Here's the first Paladin I've painted for my new Grey Knights army. I need to find some brown grass for the open spots in the base, but other than that it's complete. I'm planning to use this scheme for most of my army; I wanted something with a little bit of color but still close enough to Grey that I can play them without changing the name to "[insert color here] Knights."
I don't think all of the photos quite do the base color justice, but if anyone has a suggestion on how to make it "pop" a bit more it would be greatly appreciated - I've done some edging on the armor in a light grey, but maybe something closer to white would stand out a bit more. They were also taken with my phone so I apologize for the less than stellar quality, I didn't have time tonight to get anything better.

I'm not sure the base color suits the model. It looks very cartoony and kind of flushes the 'I am a badass terminator' out of the model.
If there was a suggestion, maybe some thin highlights to at least raise the color of it's rather flat appearance?
Your painting is ace though man, you stay within the lines and that's important.
Color choice. Hmm. Not a fan TBH.

Thanks for the input, and I've been conflicted about the color choice myself. Sometimes it looks good and sometimes, like you said, a bit cartoony.
I could always go with the standard silver but I may try a dark blue-gray to make them a bit more badass, and either way it wouldn't be hard to go back over one or two models with a new base. Exactly why I wanted to get a few opinions, I'm not married to the color choice yet...

Regardless of how anyone feels, in the end they are your models. If you like them, then paint them!
It's hard to gain the approval of other people because we are all different and like different things.
You're an excellent painter man, I can see it in your model. Try the darker color on your next model, see how it goes and post it up.

Thanks for the compliments, I'll give the next color a shot (something like The Fang, Thunderhawk Blue, or Russ Grey) and post some pics!

Not sure how much of this color is affected by the lighting, but I kind of like the sort of purple-ish grey color. I do agree that it needs depth, a nice dark wash would help it out tremendously.

You confused me there for a moment with the title, I thought you had managed to get a hold of a knight titan before the official release

Here's an update:
I washed the base color with black and went over it with a darker purple, and then did the edging with the original lighter base color again. The colors look a little bit darker in person as well.
Let me know what you think!

Well that's better than the first go round.
I'm not personally sold on the color choice but technically the paint job looks good.
