Alright folks, here we have my first set of 10 cultists. With great hesitation I used black for most of the clothing on these guys as I wanted them to balance well with the rest of the "Draconis Acerbus" army, while giving them a slightly "darker" more evil feel. To counter the darkness, I used a good amount of dark grey / grey highlights in hopes of not making them one big black blob. Let me know what y'all think!

Pictures are a bit grainy on my screen, but from what I can tell they look really good. I really like the neon green on them.

Yeah i'm not sure why, but it's something to do with the way DakkaDakka is compressing the image to fit the forum page - Give em a click and the image will come up crisp and clear - thanks for the feedback!!

** I tried doubling up the images to make it a "square" image so in theory things wouldn't seem so distorted when shrunk, but the same grainy effect occurs, at this point I am unsure why. :/

Again very nice use of the neon green on your models but I feel that they could do with another spot colour, maybe a burgundy or crimson to break up the massive areas of black.

Certainly an interesting concept and the neon green is quite fun, but I think I would go back and change at least some of the pieces of clothing to very dark green, very dark blue, very dark red and perhaps very dark purple. The overall appearance will still be very dark, but there will be a bit more interest.

Tyrannosaurus - I paint the parts I want to "glow green" with GW White Scar (after base coat). After that, I use the Testors "Aztek" fluorescent green paint (found it at my local Hobbytown USA) brushed directly on top of it... feels like cheating, but it has been so far the best "neon" effect I have been able to do.

I was VERY tempted to separate the clothing with some dark green, but ultimately all one color feels so more cultish... "Cover your face, wear black... kill everything that stands in your way", so in the end I kept dark green to the accessories, belts and such.

Thanks for the feedback all!

I'm digging your table top standard. The only thing that sticks out to me is the skull on the base. I would throw a brown sepia wash over it. You should do a group shot when you get around 750 points or so!
