Subject: Domestic Violence - 1850pts Tyranid Skyblight vs Wife's Eldar/Tau
Hm...I think you don't have enough synapse to be honest. Just the warriors and 3 flyrants right? If she gets first turn she can kill 2 flyrants leaving you with only 2 synapse creatures at 2k points. Even if you go first she can still kill 1-2. I don't know...looks like a tough match for nids

Solid battle report and two amazing looking armes.
How much of a boon to Tyranids do you think the Skyblight and other new formations are? I didn't buy into the negative review of the codex too strongly on its release, and now it seems quite strong with the formations. 6+ flying MC's isn't something to shrug off lol.

First I'd bump up the Gargs to 15 each (so about 90 Points used there)
Then I'd Bump up the Termagants to 30 units (about 80 Points used there)
A Tervigon for 195 points
and one venomthrope for 45
you'd end up with an extra synapse unit, one that can produce more termagants and your gargoyles would become more dangerous
I took this as a TAC list, so while the Lictors/Mawlocs werent big players this game, they have been against other armies. Its also been somewhat beneficial quite often to lose a gargoyle unit, hence the stationary Warriors. The Tervigon shifts the
list in the defensive direction.

I was never as negative as many (although I've said quite often the codex had some mind boggling decisions in it), but the new formations have improved my opinion of the army considerably. Skyblight is the only one I've run because for the most part I already had the models.
This is rather a more "tamed" version of the Skyblight. Still very powerful but not as over-the-top as some of the other builds that I've seen. It's good to see for once that, rather than needing the game to end on 5 for a Tyranid victory, it is Eldar needing the game to end on 5.
BTW, really cool to see a 40K family. Not very often we see one of those. I see you are training a potential Ork player. He's already practicing for the Waagh.

I had to win one eventually, had it been a landslide victory who knows.

I'm sure she'll wind up playing (Until shes a teenager and realizes everything we do is lame and stupid), she already loves rolling dice. At the end of the day, without being sappy, Sam is the most fun opponent to play against.
Right now my list is still fun to play with, and unfortunately I know that if I add in the Crones instead of Mawlocs/Lictors it will stop being that...now come Tournament time I'm all for it, but for any other time I still want to enjoy my units I'm using.
