hey all its been a few months or so since i was last on the site and collecting warhammer, due to college matters . but i was intrigued by the wood elf rumors that i have been spotting around the internet and decided that it was time. i wanted to know if you would be interested in viewing and commenting on my new wood elfs force progression.
please reply asap so that i can get some pictures up and describe my force as it goes

Well alas i couldnt wait i have decided to post up any way so away we go my wood elf force:
my wood elves are all tree themed so will try to only include tree spirit units E.G dryads wild riders and glamourweaves. so far i only have little progress but i have enough done (i believe) for a quick first post. i am going to start off by getting to 1200pts and then proceed from there. by then the new codex should be released (fingers crossed ) so away we go first up is my tree lady. im happy with how she turned out and is a much sleeker model than the god aweful treeman that Gw produces.

secondly i Have my wood elf glamourweave who is painted but not based so here she is. i am as said trying to theme it on young trees and the green is a sappling colour. ive tried to represent her as flowing from out of the tree branch that the model is posed on. im sorry if the picture quality isnt great but its the best i can do for now

ok so im back now with my new unit , Dryads. but i dont wont to use the dryad kit (although they are awesome)as they dont fit with my theme. so here is a picture of what i shall be using to create my dryads out of war aspect
here it goes ill keep updating as progress goes on so stay tuned

right after some swearing, i finally figured out a way to make the arms of my dryads by using wire to create them, ill do this for the whole squad and then ill progress on to the next stage. greenstuffing . im not great at greenstuffing but ill give it a go none the less.

ok all of the arms are now attached and drying . next step is to add the greenstuff to the tree like limbs and claws.jusst to flesh it out a little bit and give it a bark effect. im happy with how it has turned out so far, so i hope you guys and girls are enjoying it as well. more to come.

Still no more updates today, sorry about this but i do have a small consolations .
i have the first dryad fully built but in need of a little clean up and a bit of green stuffing pics will be posted afterwards.

Finally a post with some descent pics(i got the camera back) so this is a wip shot of one of my dryads. ill continue painting her and show pics of her through the painting progress, perhaps sort of like a tutorial. the bark tone is done with a base coat of black drybrushed in rhinox hide, followed by bestial brown and hide mix followed by bestial brown/hide/khemri brown drybrush and a wash of seraphim sepia, on to the signiture colour of wood elves .THE GREEN.

Wow! Did you sculpt those arms? They look great! I like where this is going and I really REALLY need to pick up a box of those Witch Elfs methinks. Good job brah! Keep 'em coming!

thanks man but no i didnt sculpt them that would be fricken awesome tho. they are the actual dryad arms but they fit the slot of the witch elves like a dream, ill keep you posted ill be picking up a box of dryads (just for the arms ) and i shall start the next 9 tomorrow at some point

ok so the green is now done on the first dryad, unfortunately the camera picks out each shade so it looks as tho the entire green areas are very high gloss and well it looks better when you look upon it in your own eyes, shame but hey ( im not happy with the pics is all)
here she is so far.
the colours used are just caliban green as a basecoat and then multiple thin high lights of caliban mixed with sunburst yelow with a glazeing of coelia greenshade

hey guys the dryad is now finished aside from her base that still needs doing (cant find my damn lichen) o well that can be done when it is found anyway here is the finished dryad and all of the finished models so far.

The list for the army is all written up now aswell. this is what i shall be working towards, here we go

lvl 3 glamourweave, with a elven steed and an obsidian amulet

10x dryads with a branch nyph
10x dryads
5x dryads

5x treekin

treewoman

total points is 1205

so ive got the glamour weave, treewoman and 5 dryads ( 1 painted and 4 more built) and another five on the work bench. waddaya think critisms and comment are asked for

Looks great! I'd recommend picking up a cardboard box removing 2 sides and lining the inside with white paper. Placing the model inside the box whilst taking photos with a white light source will cause the miniature to have a nice lighting for the most part. Hope this helps, mate.

Edit: You should totally add some little leaves to your dryads hair, I think it would be a nice touch and also reinforce the dryad theme.

I have no idea im stumped with the tree kin. i planned on using a blood wrack medusa model but they are around 20 quid each, and have no legs
