Yep I broke down and got the Knight Kit. It was wonderful to put together and tear it apart at the same time. Here is the torso which has the least amount of orky modification; mainly the KFF on the shield and a big shoot for the heavy stubber. Oh and the lights. I used an extra light set I had floating around from Powered Play Gaming. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting to add lights to there models.

The battery fits perfectly in the chest cavity. I also used two magnets to make the top removable so I can change out the battery. The on/off switch will be mounted on the back soon.

If you have any questions about anything please ask away and Ill give you the best answer I can.

More to come soon...

Looks awesome hehe.

Dya ever get the feeling that chest cavity is almost "Too" designed to fit a 9v lol.

That's why I included that image. This is the easiest large model to add lights to no questions asked.

Its like they knew I was going to do this. Even the guns are hollowed. And the top piece is basically set up for being magnetized.

Damn it. Now I have to go to the store and buy the damn model the guy has had on the shelf for a week. I really thought it would sell for him by now, but everytime I see it I think "I almost want to start an IG army to take those as allies"

Looks good mang, wish I had some of those bits, my bits box is lookin' bare lately. Might buy a stompa and a knight and smash them together.

You get more usable bits in the deff Dread kit. I had a Stompa chainsaw bit but couldnt find it and decided to move on with painting. Images of the semi finished unit coming on Monday.

I have a Deff Dread Box and killa Kans box on my "to buy" list, wife's elder amy she decided to start is crushing my monthly budget. Thanks for the tip though, I've never bought a deff dread, wasn't sure if anything in there would scale well.

Well the face, the bitz on the knight shield and a bunch of the legg gubbins are from the Deff Dread kit. You'll see what I mean when I post the rest of it.

Also used some stuff from a truckk kit and a battlewagon.

Wow, that's brilliant! It just fits the Ork mentality as well. It's big, it's stompy, and smashes everything it sees. Such an amazing idea for a conversion, I quite look forward to seeing it finished!

How did you do the head? That isn't the head that comes with the kit without any faceplate on, is it?

So the face is a combo of things. I took the stock face plate from the kit and cut from under the eyes up. I then mounted the eye and sensor plate from a deff dread in the missing parts place. I drilled a hole in the nose area for the wires to come out. The hole was covered up with a spare part gubbin. I then glued the mouth/tooth face plate from the Deff Dread onto the bottom of the face mount. Everything fit perfectly. Again its almost like they built this kit with conversions in mind.

Finally! I've been hoping to see lots of Ork conversions for this beastie, and this one is awesome just from the torso. Can't wait to get one for myself and loot it. It doesn't have a lot of bits, but that's probably a good thing. There's too many lying around from all the Ork kits.

The model itself is great. However, I am not at all a fan of the basing. The colors are too varied and jumbled and run together with the model way too much for my liking. I think a contrasting base would have offset the model nicely instead of blending in with it.

Great conversion work, though!

Agreed on some level. I'm thinking of adding some blue patina/chalk powders to the base and give some of the metal some edge highlights.

Well she had her maiden tournament run. Exploded in a firey death 3 times. Granted those firey explosions took out another knight, a banebalde (granted it was my own), and stripped half the hull points off a Warhound. So not to shabby. We also won Best Army, which is what we were really going for.

Here she is just before eating some Terminators for lunch.
