All I see is the white dwarf photo, if you made that you are my god and I will worship you as the lord of models. I would try the DreamForge APC personally if you don't want to go straight taurox. If you're going for scratchbuilt or kit bashed..... Try the sponsons from a Razorback, the pipes look like off the back of a Leman Russ, I'd use Hatches from whatever style Hatch you like, Plasticard the body shape, and find some plates out of vehicle kits that have vents in them to add a little armor and some extra detail. As for the wheels, either Mock one up with plast-Card and use tracks or just straight up use wheels. Oh, thought, you could also make the hatches out of the spare window filler bits in a Bastion kit, they are steel security shutter windows.

LOL this is the GW one i hope my efforts are not in vain lol. Plz note i have removed the visor, taken away the grills, streamlined the sides and raised the shocks. Thanks for the suggestions but i would rather have something that closely resembles the actual model.

Removing the tank treads for wheels seems like the simplest solution for changing the look of the model.

That last pic is cool but i cant help think 8 wheels is worse than 4 tracks.. how is it supposed to turn Also I was going for making it look less busy so much needless stuff that just looks slapped on for the hell of it. Ork wagon is a given.

Runnin up on ya.

In the grim darkness of the future, there are no turns. Besides, the Commisar might think that you're trying to run away if you turn and shoot you.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

The extensive planning involved in getting the trucks from the LZ to the enemy and in a straight line...

What about 4 big wheels? That would make it look like an MRAP (although Taurox AV is nowhere close )

The front four wheels could be on a single axle.

Bah, seeing them side by side, I can tell them apart now. I think that's a great start, very streamlined, more lethal looking.

The same way current 16 wheeled vehicles do.

Just 2 examples I'm familiar with. The LVS turns all 8 axles when you turn the wheel.

Cool glad someone likes it at least... I just went to the GW site and the guard prices made me nearly sick... its like £9.50 for 1 heavy weapon team... a gunner and a loader

Glad Ive got quite a collection already how could any one afford to start a new guard army.

OK smart ass I'm not feeling the wheels though so that option is out for me.

AsLAV's and Strykers are 8 wheelers.
They steer quite well.

Front 4 turn. Like most heavy trucks.

Really long heavy wheeled vehicles often have a rear pair (at least) also turn.

Eh I still think it would look perfect if the front tracks were replaced with wheels. A half-track vehicle makes perfect sense for the IG and their 'world war 2 in space' theme.

Differential drive it's called I think. Wheels can be rigged the same way as tracks. left side goes forward, right sight goes backwards, tank turns on the spot. Been done with the BTR-90 series, maybe with the earlier ones too.

What's odd about the model design is that the hull has mudguards directly over the track sections, but the track units are enclosed, meaning mudguards are pointless. The cynic in me wonders if they changed their mind from wheels to tracks at some point, but forgot to change the hull? Or were going to allow both tracks or wheels before some accountant decided to save money?

Having made a 8-wheeled battlewagon, I know a similarly wheeled Taurox will look great. Expect the price of spare ork battlewagon wheels at bits sites to suddenly go up.

What would a Commisar possibly use to "execute" a moving tank?
A Bazookoid?

This idea is also gripping me. I can't wait to see how Zinge Wheels look on the front

I'm leaning towards just a single axle in front myself. The fenders may need cut down and/or completely rebuilt, but from the sprue pics on GW's site, it seems easy enough, the chassis and fenders are one piece and fairly flat-looking.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

I think half tracks would be better..

I am starting to think the best Taurox conversion would be M3's and plasticard.

Warlord Games do 1/56th scale (28mm) Hanomags and M3's, tempting. Save money too. Havent seen th Tauriox price yet, but its likely to beat £17.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

What do you guys think about having the secondry guns coming out of the orange and white panels they would need some kind fabric surround like the chimera heavy bolters. but I can imagine gunners looking out of those windows more than i can imagine static guns strapped on the side hitting jack. I imagine them to be pointing out kinda like 45 degrees from the main tank chassis.
