The hounds of loken are a chapter of adeptus astartes that trace their origins to a half dozen luna wolf survivors of the istvaan III massacre, and there fore bear the geneseed of horus himself. The home world of the hounds of loken is a large planet located between the eye of terror and the ultramar signatum. Archerin Betaris' surface is a barren waste land, ravaged by an ancient virus. The people of archerin live deep beneath the ground in caverns that span the entire crust of the planet. The people live in huge city-buildings in the larger caverns, but the area between these are marked with huge amounts of glow orbs, powered by a wire less reactor core in the hounds of loken fortress. However, in ancient caverns and caves closed by mysterious barriers dwell the true horror of the planet. Giant bat-like creatures hunt in the dark, and when a person enters these caverns, usually a lone curious individual, they are ripped to shreds. The hounds of loken have three trials, all based upon the planet.
Trial 1: Trial of black water. SURVIVAL RATE: 21 percent.
There is a huge underground lake that gives the entire planet's populace water deep beneath the surface of archerin betaris, thousands of unkowable horrors swim, slip, or glide though the black waters, things horrible enough to drive a man insane. The first task of the hounds of loken, is to swim across these icy waters, many aspirants die from cunsumption, exhaustion or hypothermia. But those who survive advance to the next trial.
Trial 2: Trial of black stone. SURVIVAL RATE: 63 percent.
The second trial of the hounds of loken finds the aspirant locked in a small, pitch black container. If the aspirant's eyes can metaphise and allow them to unlock the container with a key located above there head, they live, and advance to the next, and final, trial. If not, they starve and die.
Trial 3: Trial of the beast. SURVIVAL RATE: 33 percent
The aspirant is given three months of supplies and a combat knife. They are then transported to one of the ancient caverns where they are given a simple order "kill the beast, return with it's head."
The aspirant rarely returns. But depending on his performance, even an aspirant who fails to kill one of the beasts may be inducted, for even tough they are ordered to, it is EXCEPTIONALLY rare for an aspirant to actuely kill one of the monsters, but if they do, a feast is held in theire honour, and they are gauged to be destined for great things.
The hounds of loken maintain a primarlily codex-compliant system with a few notable exceptions.
A large numder of TDA armour can be found in their armoury, supposedly captured and restored from a suns of horus/black legion fortress.

The hounds of loken have crusaded against chaos for cneturies, showing a viscious hatred of the black legion and undying loyalty to the emperor. the hounds of loken prefer close combat fighting to ranged fire fights, an obvyously un-codex trait. The hounds of loken maintain ten companys as is normal, but an eleventh company, numbering 300, also exists, this company is known as the afflicted.
One hundred years ago, at the battle of dervik secondus, brother-captain Julian merrro battled in single combat against a chaos lord of the black legion. Altough he fought bravely, Julian was struck down. As julian's life blood sunk into the ground, the chaos lord made a grave mistake, a mistake that would cost him his life. the chaos lord bent over julian, and whispered.
"Poor fool of the corpse god, you know, I was there, I saw garvial loken in the flesh, and he was a coward." Rage, rage and the pain of ancient betrayal, opened the most primal emotion of man-kind to julian: The betrayal caused by horus cursed through him, and the primal rage mutated him. He bulged from his armour, claws replacing his fingers, his skin stretched, his eyes boiled, rozor-teeth boiled from his foaming mouth. And the chaos lord's head was removed. The affilction had begun. Julian was swirling mass of flesh and broken white plate as he tore through the traitors ranks, completely ignoring his brothers. When the battle was over, juian stood bowed on a pile of broken chosen. The hounds of loken chapter master, Solace, refused to execute him. Julian was placed in stasis beneath the hounds of loken fortress, and solace swore to one day cure this disease.
Since then, more than three hundred space marines have fallen to the affliction.
Some times they are deployed into battle, in a manner similar to the death company of the blood angels.

hey guys, well I wanted to make some form of update here, as at the moment my camera is dead.
Well, I suppose I should make a real explanation of this army. The original idea occurred to me when I was making a command squad for my other (more competitive) space marine army. This army “the hounds of loken” is very much a large challenge for me. For one thing, the two base colours are white an black. Yep,white and black. Not just that but BRIGHT white and black. Fun, right?
Well, I am planning on having most power-armoured models with running les, taken from the assault squad box. Yep, this army is going to be hard to paint AND expensive to make. I may or may not be slightly insane. The prior has a bit of merit tho, no? This project will also feature numerous gimmicks, such as a planned unit of chaos spawn. Chaos spawn you ask? In a space marine army? What form of land of crazy wonders and hypothetical reality have I stumbled upon? Well have no fear, although the army is a loyalist chapter, I have decided the chaos codex more suits the direction I want this project to go in. as some of you may know, I love terminators. And chaos terminators are SO much better then their loyalist counter parts. This army s specifically designed to stop me from buying boxes and boxes of them (you know, I will any way,but at least I'm doing something in between )
anyhow, back to the chaos spawn. I have a planned group of very... wolf-y chaos spawn planned, and I have one made. I also have an uber-spawn/ demon prince planned.
Finally, for now, I will be posting pics of the army so far some time in the next few days, also, I have edited my first pot to be some what more intelligible, as before it was like reading some thing a child had written (wait a second...)
