Just going to test the waters with this...

Yep, that's water.

I got back into the hobby a while ago and in the weeks since my return I've probably spent more time and money than I should have. But I have at least something to show for it... I think.

Tonight I based these doodz:

Some Post-Heresy Soul Drinkers. The Soul Drinkers were founded right after the Heresy from the Imperial Fists. This squad, the squad of Lieutenant Craig... the one with the Powered Donkin' Stick and Combi-Grenade Launcher at the center of the shot, is part of a larger force. The larger group includes these guys:

Lead by a currently unnamed Lieutenant with Lightning Claws and these...

A Raven Guard Seeker Squad and Consul, a Veteran Luna Wolves Tactical Squad (NON-TRAITOR), and a Land Raider. There's also a Praetor but he's off Derping around somewhere.

In addition I'm working on this chap, a Librarian:

Emphasis on working on. But when he's done he'll be going along with these Lamenters which I'm also working on:

Shoe boxes and decorative bins... only the most professional of army transports are allowed here.

Recently I also slapped these guys together:

Literally slapped them together. I had some bits kicking around so I made Marines. Considering two of them have heavy flamers and everyone else has a snazzy power weapon and a storm bolter I was going to run them as Grey Knights. As for a Chapter I was going to call them the Ghost Bears, my favorite clan from Battletech.

Since they're going to be Grey Knights (sorta), I also made this guy:

Jarl Snukka Vong, also know as "I-can't-believe-it's-not-Castellan-Crowe". Wait... what was that?

Corien Sumatris of the Astral Claws and a command squad of Power Axe wielding lunatics?! What're you doing here!

Corien: "Well we heard you talking about guys with snazzy power weapons and thought you meant us."

No... get back in your box.

Corien: "But it's so lonely in the box. When will there be more Astral Claws?"

I don't know, okay? Deal with it, alright?

Corien: >:L

Anyway, that's some of what I've been working on lately. I'll try to keep this updated with pictures as I go.

>:3

Finished basing the Cataphractii Terminators

That's Legion Praetor Coriolanus up front, ready to kick ass

I also finished painting my Lamenters Librarian, Telepathica Consul Zacharius, but I've taken eight photos of him and they've all come out blurry. Different lighting, different surfaces, even tried my phone camera and normal camera... all look like they've had Vaseline smeared across the lens.

It's the warp, no doubt.

I apologize for the lack of updates. I'll be continuing with posts shortly. There were some non-hobby related things that needed my attention and some of us, for no good reason, celebrate Cinco De Mayo HARD.

In the last couple days I assembled and primed these guys:

They're a Legion Destroyer Squad for my 30k Army that I kitbashed together from some extra parts. Two are in Mk4, two are in Mk5, and the squad leader is in Mk6 power armor. I primed them in black and gave them a light dusting of white. They're going to either be Soul Drinkers, like the Cataphractii Terminators, or they'll be in Imperial Fist colors. The overall force is themed around that of a Post-Heresy necessity, that of hunting down bands of Traitors scattered after the Siege of Terra. The Soul Drinkers, founded from Imperial Fist stock, would be leading the mission. They're joined by a squad of Seekers and a Consul from the Ravenguard and a Veteran Tactical Squad and Land Raider from the Luna Wolves... those loyal to Loken rather than Horus. I'm not sure whether to paint the Destroyers in the Purple and Bone of the Soul Drinkers or in the Yellow of the fists. Input would be appreciated.

I also painted up this Vanguard Veteran squad for my Lamenters, rounding off the army to its completion

Blood Angel Vanguard Vets have open access to power weapons, lightning claws, power fists, and plasma pistols... and inferno pistols. Two in the squad have a PAIR of Inferno Pistols (because Gunslinger is the best rule ever), two have Hand Flamers and Power Swords, and the squad leader has a pair of Lightning Claws. I ran them in a game last thursday and they ended up shooting the bejeezus out of a Nurgle Daemon Prince. Almost killed it too... almost. It was still alive so it ended up charging the squad and eating them before they could even swing.

Also note that they don't have Jump Packs. They'll be cruising around in a Rhino (A fast vehicle for Blood Angels because *reasons*) and Melta-pistolling things/ Hand Flaming.

I'd also like to introduce the Sons of Antaeus:

I've been working on these dirt-caked hooligans for a few months now and they're really growing on me, almost as much as my Homebrew Space Wolves.

A better example of their scheme:

On the right there is Lexicanum Isaac Komnenos, Chief Librarian of the Chapter.

Tonight I built these as well:

Two more Tactical Squads and ten chaps that could pass for scouts... or Inquisitorial Henchmen, I haven't decided yet.

A problem with the Sons that I ran into with the Sons due to my rather zealous re-entry into the hobby was that I acquired a lot of models in fairly short order. The initial list I was using was that of a Forgeworld Siege Vanguard group, hence the preposterous number of Land Raiders and Vindicators. For the sake of versatility though I've been working on a smaller army list for the Sons of Antaeus, something I could field against people that don't just have 3000pts laying around. So that means Tactical Squads... possibly scouts as well. Like I said, I haven't worked out the details yet.

Did an initial drybrushing on the armor and applied a nice shade of crimson to the weapons of the two new squads I was working on.

I set up my painting trays and cardboard on my couch because my butt hurts and I didn't want to sit at my desk

Lately I've been working on some specific models for the Great Marine Swap and building stuff out of wood. Hence the lack of updates for anyone reading/ looking.

Sorry that I've let this lapse and languish but if anyone is interested I'm looking to sell or trade a wide assortment of Marine stuff
