So, I've got an idea for my powerswords, and I've got as far as painting the magma effect, but I'm not sure if I should go ahead and paint the blue lightning over top, or just leave it as a magma effect.

i think you should just leave it like that, it's different and not too much - i like how it looks a lot!

Maybe try one test sword with both and post it, maybe will have different opinion then but definitely liking just the "magma" effect going solo

Looks great as is, no need for the blue lightning.

Definitely add some highlights to the blade, but the magma effect itself looks perfect. Don't add the lightning. It would make it way too busy.

I find myself agreeing with the others here, stick to the magma effect! The lightning effect, while cool, just distracts from the beauty that you have now. Sometimes, simpler is better.

Fair enough, makes painting anymore power weapons easier. Now just to get the lot painted!

Jup, stick with the magma, looks great

I like it how it how it is, however magma is lava that is still underground. So this type of effect would technically be a lava effect, because magma sits in magma chambers underground and doesn't run in streams like lava.
