Imperial Recruit in Training

Hi there, this is my first blog and I'm kind of excited to get going.
Here I'll post photos of my recently painted models as I thought that'd be fun. For the past few years I've been switching between color schemes extremely often. To the point where I would paint one or two models and then switch to another color scheme. A few weeks ago I started this color scheme and I really like it, so I'll probably stick with it. Over those years I kept collecting minis, buying some once in a while. I've mostly went with infantry, now I've got almost 150 guardsmen, which I all have to paint of course (oh god, what have I done) I've got a few vehicles too of course. I eventually want to put each of my infantry squads in a chimera, but I need a lot more chimeras for that.
Any advice is appreciated
Anyway, let's get started.
Note to self: Buy more chimeras

HQ
Lord Commissar
It took a long time for me to realise that you need an HQ choice to play a game. I eventually went with the lord commissar due to my undying love for capes and cloaks. I got him at the local hobby store for christmas and immediately started painting. I especially like the way the fur on top of the cape turned out.

Troops
First Platoon Command Squad
My first command squad. I was really excited about them, so I used the most awesome parts I could find.

Spoiler:
The Commander. I gave him a plasma pistol at first, but eventually decided that I liked the laspistol better.

Heavy Weapons Trooper. I absolutely loved the cape that comes with the sniper (and snipers in general, I might add). So it seemed only logical to go for the sniper, and it hasn't disappointed me.

The Medic. The moment I saw the servoskull in the sprue, I knew I had to use it. It's absolutely awesome.

The Vox Carrier. I love that he looks like he's busy answering vox calls.

The Banner Carrier. I kinda failed at painting the banner. I should do that again sometime. Apart from that though, I think he looks pretty nice, did a little conversion with the knife and it turned out great.
