Started this monster yesterday after selling off a bunch of stuff in a recent move. Im blown away by the enormity of this guy, having done two warhounds I thought that was the be all end all forgeworld model...this guy makes the warhound look like a two piece plastic cadian.
I plan to paint him to match my warhound and knight titan. I started with the legs
The thing is completely filled with pins and epoxy at every joint. I would NEVER attempt a model like this without a dremel
Right now it's sitting up while the epoxy in the feet/ankle joints sets...ill pin those when they dry so that I make sure to get the right angle. I dont have clamps and all of that so I used a desk lamp to support the reaver at the correct angle
More pics to follow. Next step after pinning the feet will be to prime and paint the legs (doing that before adding accessories for easier detail painting)
Fixing thr picture orientation!

Update: I have finished the leg and hip assembly and have begun tackling how the body will attach to the hips. This is an important step with titans because so much weight is going to be on that one particular joint. I have opted for an approach that is invisible but also sturdy. I could have gone with an approach that would have had some visible pins if I wanted to be extra super sure, but between magnets and three different pins, I think I'll be okay!

Today was spent getting the leg/shin guards painted up and placed onto the model.
I started my priming the shin guards with more Vallejo grey surface primer. I then hit the plates with createx transparent black paint on the edges. I find that this paint allows for really smooth transitions when painted over with red and that's going to be the color of this titan. After that dried I did an undercoat of Badger Minitaire Regal red, then on top of that I airbrushed a coat of Minitaire Nebula red.
I then painted the trim of the plates gold using Citadel Balthasar gold and finally the rivets were hit with vallejo gunmetal grey.

Glad to see you are taking your time. I did mine in under 5 hours and regretted it later when it cam to painting. Also you will be glad you did your legs that way. Mine was in a walking position and it made it that tiny bit less stable. Im nervous to use it now haha.
Keep up the good work.

Here are the pics of the leg plates. I also assembled the laser blaster for fun while everything else dried

Update: I have attached 3/4 toes on both legs, I waited for the epoxy to dry before applying the back toes for stability reasons. The toes don't actually bear any weight but I wanted to be safe. the pistons were a bit of a pain to attach properly but I think I got them right. They're painted a brass color and then washed brown to show wear and grease on a constantly moving part. I also began work on the interior - Both sides look the same except for how the monitors are painted. This was the first bit of hand painting that I've done on the project so far and it was nice to get away from all the airbrushing and sanding. The toes will be completed a bit later when I figure out the basing situation but most likely they'll be dirtied up around the bottoms.
The rust effect is done with the forgeworld weathering pigments and was simply brushed on after applying a brown wash - the pigments don't stick to a surface unless they're wet but what happens if you have too much moisture is that they go on too thin - putting it on over the wash allowed the pigment to stay thick enough to give a realistic rust effect.

Finished the shin and knee pads...I've gone with God of War as the name for my Reaver...perhaps a bit cliche, but it says everything that needs saying!
