Subject: Brace yourselves, a Traitor Guard is comming - Renegades by Llucken
I started playing 40k a long time ago (gods, I think the 40k 5th edition had just started), and I chose the Imperial Guard as my army (I love all that has a WW2 appearance, and my snese of justice was strong by then). Well time changes the people, and as well as during the Horus Heresy, I've suffered a change: I've seen the powers of Chaos!
Ok, enough fantasy stuff hehe
I started a project some months ago in wich I'm converting my loyal Imperial Guard to a corrupted Traitor Guard. I searched models and patterns, and examples of the different renegade factions that exist and finally I chose one that doesn't has much popularity; The Stigmartus.
I'll make you a summary: consisting of Renegades, Imperial criminals, cultists, and rogue psykers, the Stigmartus was named for the ritual branding of its members' flesh with the sigil of their Chaotic masters. Although they are brutal and frenzied to the extreme, like the Blood Pact they maintain harsh discipline and military-style professionalism, and are organised along the lines of an Imperial Guard regiment. Stigmartus are bound to the charismatic leadership of a cult-general and self-proclaimed god known as Elak Sarda, who is said to be sworn to the service of a daemonic entity within the Charon Stars.
Essentially I play with an Imperial Guard army with the looks of a renegade traitor guard...and that's perfect!
By now I have a basic army (a HQ, a Infantry Platoon and some tanks). Bit by bit I'll increase my army, so this may take a long time to have a full army hehe
In a few hours I'll upload some pics of what I have (nothing painted yet, please be patient with me).
Let the blog begin!
Death to the false Emperor, all hail Elak Sarda and his Stigmartus!
ThunderFury 2575 I've seen your post about the Nurgle Guard, and I think is an awesome idea. The bits you show are perfect for what you want.
Well, here are the pics!
First I want to show you what was my idea (the looks, the scheme and colours)
Spoiler:
And now my actual army:
Spoiler:
Infantry squads
Heavy weapons squads
And this should be a Penal Legion unit, but now they'll have to be used as conscripts
Chimera
Leman Russ
My Vendetta
Finally the characters:
Spoiler:
A comissar (conversion made using the body of a chaos cultist leader)
And the HQ, with my verion of the leader of the Stigmartus, Elak Sarda (there is no drawing, pic or mini of him)
Well I hope you like them. I'll be working on new things like a special weapon squad, a techpriest and maybe veterans. If you have any question about the conversions just ask, and I know I'm not the best but I'm happy with what I have done
May the Dark Gods be with you!

Death to the false Emperor, all hail Elak Sarda and his Stigmartus!
New units!
As I said I've been working on a sniper squad. After reading the new army book, for this squad I'll need 6 units (3 snipers and 3 guardsmen/traitors). Well the snipers are ready to blow some heads!
Here you have them:
I've ordered a 5 cadian troops box and should arrive this week, so soon the unit will be complete.
Death to the false Emperor, all hail Elak Sarda and his Stigmartus!
Thank you guys!
And well, I'm very slow at painting, so I'll wait to have a bigger army (maybe one ortwo units more, and one mor vehicle) and then start to paint
Death to the false Emperor, all hail Elak Sarda and his Stigmartus!
HI there! Last night I saw the masterpiece that is "The army of Darkness" and after seeing Ash, the main character, I thought "Oooh, I need someone in my traitor guard as badass as him!".
So, some bits and glue later (and a few cuts on my hand) here's the result!
I'll use him as a version of Sly Marbo until I have more pieces to make a Veteran squadron, then he'll lead them.
Oh and also two pics of my Chimera, which I've chaotized a little with some spikes as a friend of mine suggested
Cheers
Death to the false Emperor, all hail Elak Sarda and his Stigmartus!
Yes Scrazza, there are not enough spikes when talking about chaos. Anyways I ordered some chaos tank accessories to make not only the chimera but the leman russes too more spiky. More things! Two days ago I got some new varied bits, one of them the body of the "gaberdine guy" from the Imperial Guard baneblade. I wanted that bit to make a second commissar, I started converting but despite of liking the result, it lacks of "commissar's appearence". Here's the guy:
He'll fight whit a close combat weapon, or a power weapon, depending on the situation. What do you think? What could add to make him look more like a commissar?
Death to the false Emperor, all hail Elak Sarda and his Stigmartus!
Scrazza I would gladly use greenstuff, but I'm sure I would make a mess (I don't have skills whit it, neither I have greenstuff xD). For now I'll leave him as he is... maybe in the future...
Well a few days ago I got two new things: a Sentinel (which I've assembled and chaotized) and a five-cadians box, ready to complete the special weapons squads. Tomorrow I'll have some pics ready to post!
Death to the false Emperor, all hail Elak Sarda and his Stigmartus!
