Really like it.

Highlight the pants a bit
Black wash on the guns
Finish basing them

Really nice work in some of the trickier details

Base 'em up and be done. Perfectly acceptable.

One thing that I feel really lifts minis is drilling the barrels of the guns.

As a new painter, the best advice is simply to get stuff FINISHED. Don't worry about drilling barrels etc first (just black-dot the holes if you want). Ramp in to doing that stuff later as you gain confidence.
Keep to the mantra - faces and bases - those are what get attention.

As winterdyne pointed out, the first thing to do is get the army finished. An entire army painted up to this standard looks great. Definitely better than a few exquisitely painted models alongside a bunch of gray plastic. Only try to clean up the mold lines a bit before painting.
Having said that, once you get the army done to your satisfaction, and are ready to go back and detail, here is my advice.
First, base the models. That alone makes a huge difference.
Second, I agree that drilled-out barrels do look cool.
Third, you may want to highlight the skin just a bit.
Finally, try some various colors, checks, etc on the gun details. Not much, mind you, but maybe just around the ejection ports. A little thing like that can really add a lot.
Anyway, hope this helps.

Solid work, even for a more experienced painter. If you're just starting off, you've definitely done so on the right foot!

Aside from the aforementioned points, I might add retouching the eyes. They can be a right PITA to paint, so I also hit them with a bit of red and called it a day (mine looked exactly like yours). A tiny dot of dark/desaturated red gets lost easily, though, and faces are a focal point, as winterdyne said. A bit more red to brighten them up and intensify the color will really help them pop.

Thanks so much for the help so far everyone. All your advice will go a long way towards improving my painting. For future models, what size drill bit should I use for the guns? Definitely going to head out to my hobby shop today and look for things to base these guys with.

Get a few; 0.5. 0.75, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0mm diameter bits cover most purposes. 0.75 is my most commonly used bit.

Edit: Get several of the smaller ones - they break very easily. Most times I have to replace a bit is not because it blunts, but because I drop my pin vice with the bit in it.

When it comes to barrels it is very much a question of taste.

I first started out making them quite small say with a 0.8mm or a 1mm drillbit. But later I realized that the ends you drill are not really the barrels themselves but muzzleguards, thus you would want a little bit of clearance around the bullet.

I don't remember what exact size I use now (maby around 1.5-2mm), the rim that I leave is actually pretty thin, and on the bolters I also do the cross hole with (I think) a 0.8mm drill. This is preferably done before painting and when you do the primer you get black in there so you don't have to paint it in afterwards.

Good job and my only suggestion since most htings have been covered would be to use a combination of balor brown and ushbati white for nails and teeth. Make the tooth completely balor brown ( karak stone is good too) then come back witha bit of ushbati on the tips. Nails and toe nails you can jsut use balor brown with little higlight if at all..
