Hey everyone, as someone who buys far too many models every month to actually paint them, I've decided to rest my wallet a bit and start actually painting my models, mostly necrons so far. I've based my colour scheme off of the Lorn V one I found in Dawn of War.

This is what my "Normal" Necrons look like (this was my first painted model btw and he was not done at the time of this photo) Leadbelcher with two layers of nuln oil, moot green eyes, moot green power coils, the gun is ironbreaker I think, or just leadbelcher. The gun rods have 5 colours of green going from the center, moot, warpstone, warboss, waah and caliban green. Balthasar gold joints and lines on and around the shoulderpads, mournfang brown (yes, non metallic on purpose) on the spine, and the plate on the face has since then been painted with I believe sycorax bronze, and the cables have been painted to have a dark glow.

My canoptek units have this colour scheme. another photo. and another. Very similar to my necrons, but instead all of their plating is balthasar gold instead of just some edges.

Now my issue is... I have absolutely no clue how to do my vehichles without making them look stupid. I tried a leadbelcher'd monolith with wash but IMHO it just looks quite terrible...

Does anyone have a dark scheme in which I could incorporate green glows and bronze edges/tints or just full on bronze plating? Something that fits with my other units, because honestly I cannot think of anything.

Do bronze plating on the corners of the monolith with leadbelcher or ironbreaker and then two or three nulin oil washes from the top letting them streak down a bit. Do all the crevasse with warpstone and moot green to taste. Just one idea while looking at your stuff.

It's easy to assume that people arguing an interpretation you disagree with are just looking for an advantage for themselves... But it's quite often not the case.
