Also sending Russ a copy of the Tyranid 3rd ed codex I had secured from a studio worker 6 months before its release.
And getting a 'Got Dakka?' cap and some buttons in return. Still got the hat.
Posting the results of the Eye of Terror campaign a day and a half before GW released them. (Until about 1 year ago I could weedle pretty much any info I needed out of GW)
Meeting Clouseau at an OzGD. Back in the day when none of us could greenstuff to save our lives or paint to todays standards he was a shining light that really set the bar for alot of gamers.
Meeting a heap of dakkaites at the UK Games day 2000. We stood around talking about real life for about an hour. I was constantly amazed that most of them were over 30 (I was 22 at the time).
The invasion of other GW boards with secret accounts and hijacking regular, respected members accounts by using their login names but with an underscore instead of a space or a space after a the name. Then spaming them to death with 'Are marine's gay?' questions.
The Divine Light series and being the person to name the daemons from the first 2- Cecil and Norton.
Also a vivid memory was September 11. I was at work on night duty at a remote hospital in western Queensland with no patients and saw the reports come in minutes after the first plane hit. I pulled all the TVs out and was watching CNN, NBC, SKY, and BBC all at once on Sattelite TV and relaying the info to the guys in the US who seemed to be having a news outage. Also remember someone in Halifax Canada posting how planes were landing every few seconds after being banned from US airspace.
Posting for 30 hours straight (on an invasion)
Being able to relate to people all over the world because we all play with little hunks of plastic and metal.
And finally about 5 years ago for april fools I did up a memo from GW headquarters stating that sportsmanship was going to be included in Golden Daemon (as a parody to sports points in tourneys) including extra points for not painting 10% of the model and having to smile whilst painting the model.
Within 24hours all the GW forums were carrying it and there was much wailing and gnashing teeth (i'm sure some of the 'professional' painters had a cry until it was revealed as a hoax.
