Veins would be awesome!

second under-wing done, and some veins added too : ) I have to admit, they look damn good! They're pretty faint, but the shots show them up fairly accurately. Good idea whoever suggested it

I've given the tops of the wings a thin coat of a 1:1 mix of Tallarn and Charadon, I'll do a darker mix tomorrow and then the usual washes for shadows and then a little highlighting (not forgetting the tail and the tops of his feet as well)

Veins look awesome...Someone needs to check their blood pressure with such faint veins! LOLZ

The veins are perfect, only just can see then, very realistic. Although having a low BP as a teacher is not so realistic.

... maybe I don't have low BP, and I'm actually ready to explode... that would certainly be more realistic

tops of the wings done, and they're okay, even if some of the blends are a bit shonky...
I've put in a shot of the underside again, so there's some comparison without too much scrolling.

Left to do: tubing on the wings, flight pods highlighting, weapons highlighting, hair (possibly bright turquoise?), base

latest Scourge done : ) I'm pretty happy with how he's turned out - I even tried a little sourced lighting from the flight pods (which you can kinda see in the photos)

What did you use to get that coloring on the obelisk? I am going to e doing some Cryx and would love to use that color for their base?

Charadon Granite basecoat, wash of Badab black, drubrushed it with Shining Gold (then went in and neatened it up again with Charadon), and then a liberal wash of Asurmen Blue : )

A ha! So it was Asurmen blue, I thought it might have been Necron Abyss, but I was wrong, I gotta watch this space more!

slightly odd and roundabout process with this one (could probably have left out a couple of steps and gotten exactly the same result!)
2:1 mix of Tin Bitzwarf Bronze base, wash of Baal red, then a wash of Gryphs, then a wash of Badab.
Highlighting with Bronze, and then Shining gold.

I have to say that I'm very much enjoying painting these models - I think they're my favourite ever : )

Looking good so far, keep it up!

a bit of work done on the latest Scourge - trying for a green-toned version of Dark Edar skin, and it's kinda working...

... as ever, once I've taken a shot of it, I can see all the parts I wnt to fix! I can see that some of the shading on the top wing segment is pretty rough and needs smoothing out!

I'm loving the green! Those wings are just an awesome sculpt, and your painting makes them look all the more fantastic.

I like the green, are you going to shade down most of the wing membrane or leave it really bright?

not sure Cutthroat... the shot makes it look a hell of a lot whiter than it does in the flesh, so I might knock it back with some green...

Green is my Kryptonite - I'm rubbish at it for some reason!

I think what I'll do is go in with a mid to dark green and smooth out those blends, but leave it fairly light.

first wing knocked back, and second wing done - that'll teach me to do them at seperate times and not quite remember the mix of paints I used!
Bit of a mission this one - my weakness to green is showing! lol I can see a few bits that I need to tidy up, but they're looking better than last night : )

Latest Scourge done, and she's okay... I kind of lost heart with this one again - I just don't seem to be in the mood to sit down and do some serious painting at the moment, so I feel as if I rushed finishing her off, but there you go.

I aged her armour a fair bit, and then finished off the top side of the wings - a colour combo I'm going to have to try and remember as it produces a lovely bottle green. Weapons done, base tidied up, and there you go.

Hopefully I can cheer the hell up and get some good work done now!

Those wings are truly fantastic, i especially like the more fleshy colored one.

I noticed the rune on the guardian wepon platform. It looks sortof loke the Avatar one, or mayby tha prism one.its a geeky remark, wich only a freehand lovin' geek like me would notice, but still. I would realy lik a group shot. Great work *subscribes*
