So its been a long time since i have posted on here and I am finally getting back into the 40k thing. With most of my time spent working, I have been using it to build up a guard army that I have always wanted. Now that I think I can paint well enough, I wanted to expand my work back into the game. Since there is a new book I am excited after playing two games, held out better than my other counterparts who I played with and really am happy that the guard are where they are now. I now am the owner of a semi large krieg army and a few platoons of catachans that will be my Riverine platoon that I had plans to do a few years ago. Brings back memories as I paint there new miniatures and I am very happy with my progress over the few years and am still pushing to be a professional painter in the back of my mind.

I love ww1 as a historical subject and decided to dedicate my krieg to being an early ww1 style french Chausser regiment with supporting artillery and some other goodies.

On the other side of the board I will be doing a whole range of different work on the guard that I acquired over the past year or so, Malcador included. Being that I do work 5-6 days a week in a resturant I will be posting in the mornings and before work, but I am a fairly active painter and have a lot of work to show. So here it begins!

Any C and C is always welcome and most of it if not all of it is WiP at the moment as i do have a handful of commissions to do as well.

Small update today, nothing major till tonight after I get home from dinner. Working on a vet squad first and than a command squad and this pile of heavy weapons teams I got from my friend. Its mostly old catachan missile teams which is awesome. I finally can rocket everything into oblivion and now I have the missile teams to do it.

After a count, its about 100 catachans, give or take 5-10. Its going to be a long haul especially with my krieg as well. Nothing that cant be finished if I keep up with it.

Id like to get some feedback on my color scheme, more I can improve the better.

More later!

Been a little while since my last update, but I have been working quite a bit. Been doing a lot with making bases for my guard. Ive been working on making trench styled bases for my combined forces and im getting gopd results so far, contrast on basing is really important the more and more I do this. Dabbling in using water effects with this batch too. I really like how the Vallejo air paint works and ive been using it more and more as I get into airbrushing.

The bases are cork, gravel and sprue bits from metal miniature lines. I split them and bend them for a broken metal look. File down any markings from companies and make sure theirs no indications left. Give them a base coat of vallejo air black, gunish green and dark earth. Go back over it all with small patches of gunship green and then when its all dry, drybrush time.

With the drybrush, its important to have basically no paint on with this,I started with PP great coat grey, spreading it no completely over the base, but in the darkest areas. After I went to Reaper master class sun burned flesh and went a little more into light sections. Some bone white and astronomicon gray to finish it allup. Washed as needed after water effects.

Back to the Krieg which im finally working on, ive been using a lot and I mean a lot of scale 75 paints and im doing that for all of my krieg and riverine weapons. Aside from some camo, mostly nmm for me as I think it looks better with the colors.
