hello fellow dakka dakkans, i have been a member of dakka dakka for about a year now and none of my P&M blogs have really been successful. so i hope this one will be different. anyway on to the project at hand. i have forever long been a night lords fanatic, and as such have always wanted to collect an apocalypse sized force. anyway my previous army are the fallen DA and so from painting points of view the night lords should provide a challenge with all of their grisly trophies and lightening effects. so this afternoon i got the bus down to town and went to my local GW. i picked up a box of raptors and a standard squad of chaos space marines. after a good few hours i have discovered a good way to make an awesome night lord. alas i discovered something else. i haven't got enough back packs for what i want, in addition before i show any of the following pictures be warned they aren't undercoated or anything of the sort as i am now awaiting the night lord shoulder pads to arrive from forge world.(so none of them have the left shoulder pad.
anyway enough said i do believe so on to the pics. hope you enjoy

another quick update, i have decided that i will add Huron black heart to my night lords project as he fits the night lords theme quite well. being a level 1 psyker with access to divination, an awesome lightening claw and the ability to infiltrate a lot of stuff. so i began work on Huron today unfortunately i lack the legs for him today as i have lost my black Templar emperors champion.(i'm using those legs cus they are an older mark power armor.) so anyway enough chit chat and on to the few pics of the WIP.

ps there is no paint as i am awaiting forge world parts EG shoulder pads and rhino doors

okay finished up a test model using one method of painting. unfortunately my camera doesnt pic up the wet blending very well, but hey as always he hasnt got his left shoulder guard as im waiting for forge world bits. and his base is incomplete . anyways onto the model.


i may repaint him and try another method but we'll see

* maybe i should lighten the blue another few shades. maybe that will help. possibly re-shade the gold aswell, its a bit garish
* im gonna re paint it. it looks bad close up and does not do the 8th legion any favors

okay so after many hours of grueling work, i have finally come up with a nice looking night lords colour scheme and i really enjoy painting it. bearing in mind this model is not finished (again with the shoulder pads and base) and the model itself needs finishing but please c&c is asked for (so lets hear some)

ok so after a night of worry (family member going to hospital) i have got the finished night lord (again minus the shoulder pad and the base) im really happy with this model. first time with nmm and free hand lightening im loving the night lords theyre a very evocative miniature to paint
anways on to the (nearly) finished night lord.

right the firsst night lord complete i decided to right a small 600pt list trying to remain as fluffy as possible.

hey guys got my hq built finally (again no shoulder pads ) however my friend and local Gw staff member had some of the Gw night lord heads so
i figured that i could use em and i have.

also i forgot to mention that i have replaced the plasma and melta guns in the havoc squad to an all out heavy bolter havoc squad

good news the forge world stuff will arrive monday or tuesday. and a small update. my new rhino. alas this is also waiting on forge world bits.

my forge world parts have arrived and they have given me the wrong items . land raider doors instead of rhino doors. also whilst on the topic i have now decided that i will play the nightlords as raven guard.(the rules fit the fluff) and pics will be up shortly
