A tile from the new Imperial Sector Realm of Battle board. Looks amazing!

With in a month. Sanctus Reach(planet Strike Update) will pre-order next week.

My source. This is the first picture of this on the web.

Looks nice but how do you place terrain flatly on it?

I'm assuming that's just one tile right? And, planetstrike update within a week(or preorder for it anyway)?

You're not assuming it's one tile. It's stated as such in the OP

Oh, I was just checking to see of our definition of "tile" was the same.

This looks much busier than the old one. I'm curious about a price hike, and if they'll discontinue the old one.

Columbus, Oh

so, is that a single flat 4x6 "tile"?

I don;t see the typical square tiles and the places they would meet.

And.. that would otherwise be a PITA to ship..

2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

It says it's a tile 'from' the board. So unless the board is larger than 4x6, no, it's not a single 4x6 tile.

Sanctus Reach is the new name for Planet Strike?

I get Sanctus... but Reach?

The Sanctus Reach is the name of an area of Imperial Space.

Edit: For clarity, 'Reach' in this context is used to denote an area that extends outwards. So probably a cluster of systems that extends out from the regular Imperial borders, in this case into Ork space, since it's supposed to be connected to the Red Waaagh!.

I thought the realm of battle boards were square, 610mm by 610mm . That looks rectangular ?

Ah, completely monged out there. Your addition of "The" totally made it make sense. Thought it was an attempt at some High Gothic titling that they've been loving recently.

Warlord Grukk’s bullish tactics take a heavy toll on the human defenders and destroy the Obsidian Glaives Chapter before the legendary Freeblade known as Gerantius joins the conflict, tipping the war into a new desperate phase.

That does not look at all friendly to pedestrian or vehicular traffic. And much, much busier than the old realm of battle board.

Looks to be the foundation for plunking down your Cities of Death ruined buildings on it. Tempting, but no thanks, not at GW's prices. Already got enough of the terrain, and I've got the Secret Weapon Miniatures boards on the way.

Interested to see the rest of the board. I guess it would be asking too much for it to be released alongside some Non-Imperial terrain.

Looms to irregular for CAD work and seems to be some iffy bits for injection moulding. Maybe forgeworld biscuit foam but not sure I can see This in hard plastic.

Looks like something Forge World would produce. I would honestly be surprised if GW did this given that it looks nothing like they'd do via CAD.

I love my Realm of Battle board, and this looks really neat from what little I can see. GW said back in the day there were plans to expand the Realm of Battle board with more options, so I'm eagerly anticipating this!

I like how even on a board that's a city block they still managed to get a pit of skulls on it.

Quoted for god-damned truth.

I don't mind the look of it all that much; there's a few oddities like the bars on the streets and very odd sidewalks, but you know, grimdark or whatever. The inevitable pit of skulls, well that's just grimderp.

I didn't even dislike the normal realm of battle until I realized it was covered in pits of skulls. The only place I've seen one in person is the sole GW out here, and they filled the skullpits on all but one board...

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

FW make RoB tiles and they look like great things that fit 40K. GW proper makes one, and it's as gaudy and horrible as a lot of their Warhammer terrain. WTF?

Well, there'd be no point to running a separate brand like Forge World, if both FW and the main-brand produce the same stuff.

Arguably the whole point of a variant brand like FW is to offer a different style, most often one that chimes with the "older generation" of GW fans to cash in on those that come back to the happy hobby in their post-teens, not just with different aesthetic tastes, but usually also a job better than delivering pizza and more cash in their pockets (though the last, curiously, is less and less of a difference between the to brands, which, if anything, makes emphasizing the difference in design and game-play even more pertinent).

I'm not up with the fluff of grimdark, but this looks like a graveyard. I mean all of it. The road looks like tombs/graves? Doesn't make much sense either way.

It's not a grave yard! It's the remains of a Skulldanium mine. Clearly they sealed the mine and built a city on top.

Or, you could wait a little and buy some rather excellent Secret Weapon urban boards instead:

Note that the tiles are 1'x1' for anyone who thinks the road looks too big.

At this point I think most people who are serious about having an urban board incorporating the 40k cities of death buildings have probably found another solution.

I've also gone another way with it and done big foam foundations for the buildings to sit on, hot-glued to MDF, textured the whole lot. Looks great.

+1 for Skulldanium mine. Funny
