Okay, so this is a
ridiculously stupid and idiotic question, I'm forced to ask because of what I heard today, and it just baffles me.
The rules for ruins and twisted copse (which, by the way, is a
citadel wood) state they give their cover saves regardless of 25% obscured.
The rules for Vehicles and cover (page 77, 2nd bullet point) say
Vehicles are not obscured simply for being inside terrain such as woods or ruins. The 25% rule given above takes precedence.
To me, this CLEARLY reads as "You only get a cover save for a vehicle (including walkers, as far as I can tell)
if it is 25% obscured, even if it's in a ruin or a wood."
Given that 1) it tells you to ignore it and 2) it's a General vs. Specific.
Now, I was told that there are different types of ruins and woods, and because of that the 2nd bullet point needed an
FAQ. At first, I thought this was right. I've been thinking and re-reading: it does not seem this way to me now, but a number of people are adamant that with the various types of ruins and woods, only generic woods (not defined anywhere that I can see, besides "Twisted Copse" which is not a "wood", apparently) and generic ruins (the ones without data sheets).
Any clarification is helpful. It seems straight forward to me: Ruins and woods of any kind don't give vehicles a cover without 25% obscuring.
