Okay, so this is a ridiculously stupid and idiotic question, I'm forced to ask because of what I heard today, and it just baffles me.

The rules for ruins and twisted copse (which, by the way, is a citadel wood) state they give their cover saves regardless of 25% obscured.
The rules for Vehicles and cover (page 77, 2nd bullet point) say
Vehicles are not obscured simply for being inside terrain such as woods or ruins. The 25% rule given above takes precedence.

To me, this CLEARLY reads as "You only get a cover save for a vehicle (including walkers, as far as I can tell) if it is 25% obscured, even if it's in a ruin or a wood."
Given that 1) it tells you to ignore it and 2) it's a General vs. Specific.

Now, I was told that there are different types of ruins and woods, and because of that the 2nd bullet point needed an FAQ. At first, I thought this was right. I've been thinking and re-reading: it does not seem this way to me now, but a number of people are adamant that with the various types of ruins and woods, only generic woods (not defined anywhere that I can see, besides "Twisted Copse" which is not a "wood", apparently) and generic ruins (the ones without data sheets).

Any clarification is helpful. It seems straight forward to me: Ruins and woods of any kind don't give vehicles a cover without 25% obscuring.

If I sound like I'm being a condescending butthole, I'm not. Read my reply as neutrally as possible, please and thank you.

The vehicle rule says it all about vehicles needing to be 25% obscured.

Vehicles are not obscured simply for being inside terrain such as woods or ruins. The 25% rule given above takes precedence.

So they more or less are being stupid with the "Twisted copse isn't a wood because it doesn't say it is" crap?
And the different types of ruins.

Underline the words Such As, please.
The reference to Wood and Ruin in that sentence are nothing more then examples of Terrain granting a cover save outside of the 25% obscured Rule.

Wow...
I just re-read that. I didn't realise it said "such as".

Also: just remembered, not that it has any influence on my opinion, the biggest reason they're disagreeing is because the Twisted Copse says "regardless of being 25% obscured". Apparently "regardless" overrides the Vehicles section...

Vehicle Restriction is still more Specific, but when it comes to those sort of arguments it becomes harder to sway someone with a different view.

For the copse to count as more specific and override the vehicle rules as well, it would have to call them out specifically. It's prhase 'regardless of being 25% obscured' would apply to all models in general as do the normal cover rules, but the vehicle rules are more specific referring to their type, and thus aren't overridden. (unless of course the copse rules specifically call out vehicles in their description or examples)
