Yesterday I got my first
40k game in a long while against Necrons, an army I've fought rarely and never since the new edition. We elected to try the new Maelstrom missions and chose Cloak and Daggers. Because of the nature of that mission, I have less recollection of my opponents objectives than my own, but Ill do my best to recall his scores!

Opening Tyranid Deployment
Opening Necron Deployment
In a brazen move, my Warlord Tyrant rushes (using Onslaught) to electroshock the Ark as well as a few Warriors.
The rest of the Tyranids push the line. The Reaper equipped Tyrant stays on the ground and claims objective two.
In response the Necrons push forward. This combat would prove disastrous for my elite
CC Tyrant, because none of his attacks would ever make it past Mindshackle Scarabs.
His Wraiths would also push up.
Tyranid Turn 2 saw a hard push forward, with many two hull points being removed from the annihilation barge via electroshock and Devourer shots to the rear armor. That same Tyrant would suffer perils attempting to cast catalyst, but stayed in the air. The Haruspex (having lose 3 wounds) pushed forward, ready to assault. The Carnifexes lumbered together towards the center, bringing down their firepower on the Warriors, most of which would rise again. The third Tyrant fires into the Scarabs, killing one. The Crone would fail to connect with her tentaclids against the wounded arc.
The Haruspex would ultimately fail to wound the towering Monolith in this round of combat.
the massive monolith.
And in a flash, the Carnifex are met head on by the Wraiths, having been teleported across the field. The safety providing Venomthropes would be vaporized along with many of the tiny Gaunts from the massive firepower of the Doomsday Ark.
However, they would be caught in a massive volley of devourer fire from the angry Carnifexes and Termagants. The Monolith would lose more hull points from Electroshock grubs and the nearly dead Haruspex. The Barge would also be finished off by the electric shock. Finally, the Warlord Tyrant moves up to fire on the newly arrived Nightscythe.
Superior maneuvering on the battlefield has thus far kept the Necrons in the lead despite their losses, scoring first blood with the fall of the Reaper Tyrant as well as holding critical objectives.
The remaining Wraith and Lord push up. The Ark moves into a defensive position to protect the now critically wounded Monolith. The Carnifex would be engaged and wiped out, but not before downing the last Wraith with overwatch fire. Tyranid Warriors flee up a ruin from the Overlord,
so he engages and picks off the other source of synapse, the loan Zoanthrope. The Haruspex would finally be put down.
Tyranid Biovore fire would be highly effective at dropping the Warriors, but they keep getting back up.
Being caught in the open, the Carnifex crashes into the closest target.
While the other dispatches the Monolith.
The Overlord catches up with the Warriors, seeking to dispatch the last source of backfield synapse.
The arrival of a new Nightscythe and troops further increases the gap in points as Necrons claim critical objective markers. Holes in synapse cause many of the lesser tyranids to flee for cover or go to ground.
The Warrior mob dispatches the Carnifex with the aid of the Lord and his Mindshackle scarabs. They then turn their attention on the remaining Carnifex as the Lord moves to grab a new objective.
The Carnifex backs up in order to use his stranglethorn cannon. The Crone claims objective six but is quickly cut down by the Necron Lord on top of the ruins.
As the Nightscythe flies back on the board, the Tyrant moves to claim objective 3 and destroys the Immortals with a Psychic Shriek and devourer fire.
Slowly the Overlord whittles down the Warrior brood until only two remain.
The Tyrant attempts to clear objective 5 in a last ditch effort and scores a point by downing the Night Scythe, scoring a point for killing a flier. However the death of the Carnifex nets the Necrons more points for killing a Monstrous creature.
The game ends with the Necrons in a distant lead at 16-11.
