Overall it looks nice, the orange is at the right amount adding a good splash of color. My best suggestion is just to thin the paints and do several layers and buildup from dark to light. Did you wash them yet?

What i did so far is :

- fully cover the model with eshin grey then wash it with nuln oil
- Layering the greys with dawnstone and admin. grey
- Layering ushabti bone then troll slayer orange

The above statement is your best bet, other than airbrushing.
Start with a half watered paint and add a layer, then another but add more water.
You want to to fill in e gaps but not be thick so it won't spread out.
Use long strokes with a medium brush and do layers in opposite directions. E.g. Back head to front then top head to bottom.

What kind of primer did you use?

Maybe you need a thinner primer (some spray can primers go on more thick than others).

Or try spraying the primer is quicker bursts, in a sweeping motion, to not get too much on the model.

(this is the guess that the surface issues might be the primer, and not the paint).

Looks neat!
