Spoiler: I lose.
Ogres are TOUGH!
Pistoleers dance around the gnoblars. I learn how pistols and fast cav work. i charge the trappers for some reason losing 3 pistoleers and learn just to shoot the stupid things.
Handgunners are relatively useless. One round of shooting. Yay. Forget what they even wounded.
I fail a charge on the Thundertusk with my cav. He charges me with the Thundertusk, whiffs with the Impacts, kills a few knights, then gets smacked up and run down.
While this happens, the Big Fat Unit, that has ALL the characters in it, charges the Militia unit, which contained the Wiz. The wiz had cast his Leadership spell, so when the Militia lost half of their number, they *passed* their
Ld test. BAM!
This sets up a flank charge with both the Knights and the Greatswords. What could be better? I wish I would have stopped his spell that makes his guys have Regen. They had Regen the whole game... I never pass a Battle Prayer when it matters. We beat the heck out of each other for 2 rounds and then everyone of my guys die. When the wizard dies, the cav run. They pass morale and charge back into it, and then die. If I could have stopped the regen, I think I might have won. Needed a little more hit from the characters.
Overall, I had a really good time. Mike, my opponent was rad. Really cool dude. I got the same number of points in the escalation campaign as he did for winning, because I had all my supplies and was fully painted. That is a thing that Matt from the store is doing to get people into having that being a part of people's games. An incentive. I came out of the school of in the
GW store not fully painted doesn't hit the table and "story copies are not for you the play the game."
Anyways, I have two pretty, pink flags on the campaign board. BAM!
