So, I picked up 8 skorne immortals, and 8 menoth desert raiders on the cheap. Just wondering what I can get my hands on that's cheap and consistent with theme. I like the animated stone look, and extended the lava colouring to glow from eyes on the immortals, and they are the black pieces. I'm probably going to continue running with the menoth for the white pieces, but I'm not sure what to do for knight and bishop. I'm not familiar with the product lines, so would appreciate help.

Right. And king and queen. No idea what to do either. I'd like to have a prophets vs guardians of hell type thing going. I'm wondering if anyone has done fire-glow crys, and how to get miniature tears/rents into the models? Terrible paint job attached below. I could do better, but really don't want to. I just want to fix the lava/fire glow, and move on.

Obviously, it also be ace to have two playable armies coming out of this. I wouldn't mind having stuff that pulled double-duty. The intent was chess et, but if I'm buying.... I may as well get stuff to run together

So, I've been looking, so I'm wondering if this will work for both theme and in terms of building an army:

Skorne:
8x Immortals (pawns)
2x Ancestral Guardian (Bishops)
1x Haakar (king)
1x Tyrant hexeris (queen)
2x bone jacks (knights)
2x helljacks (rooks)

Menoth:
1x menoth battlegroup (queen and 2 rooks)
1x Vizigoth Rhoven (king)
8x idrians (pawns)
2x Rhoven's guards (bishops)
2x Exemplar vengers (knights)

I know the skorne "force" right, but I didn't see anything that would fit the "animated stone" theme that the immortals have going for them.

What about the Wolds? They're not Skorne either but they'd probably fit a little better being warbeasts made from stone and all.

I checked them out. I like them, I'm just miffed over the rope. It could work though if I find more stuff to pull off the remaining pieces. IT occured to me to look for golems, I wasn't sure what to play those as...
