I have been looking for a good while now and have been wanting a game mat that is good and durable. i have about 60-75 to spend (includes shipping cost). I more want either a barren / grassy plains look. Thank you in advance

Get one of Frontline Gaming's mats. It's a bit more expensive than what you mentioned (around $100 with shipping I believe)

They are a fantastic product and I regret only picking up one when the Kickstarter was live.

Here's my Alpine mat:

The Citadel Battlemat is pretty amazing if you can find one.

I bought one from Amazon before they sold out and it works great.

But there are plenty of companies out there making good mats now-a-days. Shouldn't be to hard finding one you like!

One of them filthy casuals...

+1 for the Citadel battlemat. It is great. Didn't realize they stopped making them.

Building may also be an option:

I noticed that the plastic glue label recommends wearing something akin to a hazmat suit when handling the glue. I have been using it for years and never used gloves or anything nor do I know anyone who does. ShouldI be worried for my health?

Well, there's a slight risk of gluing something together with it. Only slight, mind.

I played on an alpine and it was awesome. Go for this if you can.

+1 on the Mat o War. The closest thing I have ever seen to a properly flocked surface, and they are incredibly resilient.
