It's tabletop ok ok, you did the base color and a wash, but in one hour you should at least highlight the skin. It's really too flat.

Fair comment I suppose but I'd rather have a fully painted horde that looked good on the tabletop than a couple of squads that I'd spent days on and a load of grey plastic. When you work full time and have a family it's hard to find the time to dedicate to it...

I have however further highlighted him now just to make you happy

A fair point, but this is a character model and they generally deserve a little more attention than the rank-and-file.

How to paint Skeletons the way I do if that's something you'd fancy trying.

Nice model, haven't seen one like that before and I completely understand with the amount of time it takes to paint. I started painting 3 mobs of 30 boyz a while ago. Now they still aren't anywhere near done so I've just decided to undercoat them and start again, painting them all. Took me an hour and a half to undercoat them all and add all the red bitz then the yellow bitz. It might just be because I'm a slow painter but it's hard working full time and juggling hobbies around. I'm sure I've got a Black Reach squad around here that I haven't touched...

He's a warhammer ork shaman, I'm making him a snakebite retinue with a squiggoth as part of my overall Goff horde.

i have the standard 40k weirdboy but love the look of this guy too.

Now I have been shamed so publically I will spend two hours on my next character

I know my Chaos Terminator Lord took me a good 5 days to do,

1st day = Lighting claw
2nd day = Kai Gun (maybe Plasma based in match usage wise)
3rd day = cloak, chest and leg armour
4th = helmet and wires
final day = base with creating melted rock /w molten look

So aye take your time with HQ models as they are your Centrepiece models that everyone will look (and hopefully) fear lol

Looks good though, nice combination of colours on cloak etc.

Basic orks are like guardsmen, you need so many they just get a basic stock paint pattern, maybe bit of cammo variety but mostly same colours in different layering for simple breaking up clones.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

Now now, he's not JUST an orc shaman. That's Wurrzag Da Great Green Prophet!!

Overall, your painting is neatly done on both. True, the weirdboy could use a little more work since it's a character, but I do understand going for tabletop first, then progressing afterwards. Just a little more highlighting I think would really help both models, but even without it, they do look nice. Good work.
