Yup, looking at the banner, the guy is obviously very talented at free hand brush painting so by comparison the skin is relatively easy (compared to banner) but will definetly take a certail level of brush skill.

Yep. Also note that some patterns will be easier than others. Getting nice, even spirals is tricky, but short strokes leave less room for error, whether they're straight or curved. You might be hard pressed to copy the back-right model's markings without some practice, but the model in front of it shouldn't be too much trouble - its pattern is just short, slightly curved strokes that meet at the ends.
