Hey guys!

This will be my first tournment in v7. My opponents will mostly be shooty armies (Necrons, IG, CSM).
Could you please rate my 1kpts army below?

1 Big Mek KFF and special tools
1 Gorkanaut

11 Boyz
1 Nob PK
1 Truk with plank

11 Boyz
1 Nob PK
1 Truk with plank

11 Boyz
1 Nob PK
1 Truk with plank

1 Dakkajet with extra super shoota

6 Lootas

I know it's quite basic, but the idea is to be versatile, and to test this new codex basic rules.
Of course the objective is to make the Gorkanaut main target, to allow the truks to rush and get cc at t2.

If you get to go first, great. If not, deploy those Trukks out of LOS as best you can. Looks like a lot of fun at 1000 points. Let us know how the Gorkanaut does.

Thanks guys. We usually play on Realms of Battle citymap, so there usually are a lot of covers.

That's why, because of the covers and the good saves of my opponents, maybe the Burna-bomber (vs covers) or the Blitza-bomber (vs good armors and tanks) may be good alternatives for the Dakkajet.

Out of interest, why a gorkanaut with a KFF inside, rather than a morkanaut with a KFF outside?

Ork Boy Hangin' off a Trukk






Consider putting reinforced rams on the trukks. They are an automatic take for me just because it opens to door to some really great stuff, such as tank shocking to drive low ld off the table, not getting bogged in terrain, and most importantly, that wonderful S6 ram attack. Sandwich a predator between some angry trukks and laugh as you glance it to death.

This gives you something to do with your trucks after turn 2 when you've dropped the kids off, and definitely keeps the opponent on his toes if you start waging psychological warfare on him.

1) The Big Mek is not inside, but behind
2) So, Trukks close to him may benefit the cover if I don't go first
3) The ranged weapon of the Gorkanaut is much better than the Mork one IMO
4) The Gork' gets +D3 A in cc in 99% of the case. And the Big Mek will help him to get in cc

Well, I don't see any reason to NOT put a Gorkanaut ^^ (vs Mork)

Well I always played Lootas in groups of 5-6 and they did well. Here I don't have any points left to use more of them.
I usually put them under cover in a ruined building, which when needed can be even improved +1, as even if they hit on 6+ it's ok ^^

Mh I can expect a Land Raider or a Leman Russ, to take over my 'naut. Maybe the Blitza-Bomber may add the AT that my army is missing. What do you think?

The Blitza Bommer is good anti-infantry and for finishing off tanks, and can be real fun to use. However, the Dakkajet gets more shots, so it has more than one hit on a light tank, and therefore more glances to wreck it. The Blitza requires luck on the vehicle damage table and only gets 1 wound

For the guy who leaves it all on the field (because he doesn't pick up after the game).

Well I suggested smasha guns as an AT option. I wouldn't reccomend kannons as an AT option. I would rather use the lootas. Kannons are good because they are cheap..but don't particularly specialize in one role. Lootas are the same..but do it much better. They are versatile but they are better at being so because they get more shots.

Smashas are damn random But for sure AP1 is great.
Question: if you have a unit of 3, do you roll once per round for the 3 of them? or do you have to roll each S?

The only problem I see with Gunz vs Lootas, is the mobility. We play on a ruined table, with lot of covers. As my opponent will wait for me, shooting from the very back of the table, I am afraid the Gunz won't have much targets in sight. But that's a very good alternative for sure.

Then, as you eluded to before, the skorcha bomma might be a great option. kind of expensive.. but this is THE instance that it would be useful.

i have found the schorcha bommer to be good at things hiding in cover - especially the missiles it can take. if you have room for them points wise.

otherwise if you are worried about not getting los to your opponent because of cover then maybe you should invest in some cheap lobbas? great at killing infantry or sniping out characters with a re roll to hit from the grot.

Looks like a solid list.

I'm not entirely sold on the Buzzsaw on the Deffkopta, being only Str7 on the charge. I'd maybe drop those, keep the Koptas out of combat, and get more Kommandoes.

I usually like to use Kopters like this, because Scout + Motojet + Buzzsaw in the rear armor, even with S7, can be very effective.
But I also agree that more Kommandos would also be good .
That's the dilemma

at 1000p these things have major impact on the game, Lobbas and kannons. Traktor kannons that shoot full BS on skimmers and flyers. i find snikrot to be abit to expensive for a single 5man unit of kommandoz in 1000. would be better spent on the things mentiond above. good thing you included rams, an imobilized trukk is a useless one (well unless you use it as cover )

Assuming my opponents will wait and obliterate me from the very edge of the table, and with the covers we usually use, I don't think Kannons will be effective. Usually they do, but not vs this opponent.
I will maybe remove one buzzsaw from Kopters to use a unit of 3 of them with 3xTL RL and 1x buzzsaw. May be better!
My only concern with my army, is vs 14 armor...

Orks can't deal with AV 14 very easily that's just a fact. The best way is with a S10 PK boss or Dreads/Morka/Gorkanauts.

I say keep the Buzz saws and have them separate. More targets for them to worry about.

how to deal with A14.. mass str 8-9 attacks aka mega nobz... well tankbustas do it better now but you have to take them in a battlewagon to make em viable.

Mh then RL instead of burnas on the Kommandos could be a good idea, and this will allow me to put 2 more of them in the squad
