Hi all,

Looking some inspiration for a darker pallete for blood letters. I'm thinking having Primed them black and then pre shading with white I might do a 1:1 mix of rhinox hide and naggaroth night before working up in dark reds. Any thoughts?

For the Lion and Terra!

Because nothing in the galaxy is black and white, Mankind views the Space Marines as a last resort. The last line. When all else fails. They take up the burden. The noble defenders of Mankind. The last hope.

With finecast you can bypass the washing stage and throw them straight into the bin.

Or cut out the middleman and just flush some money down the toilet.

Ok so this is based 1:1 naggaroth night and rhinox hide, then drybrushed mechrite red, then blood red then blazing Orange then a wash I made from a few paints and some dark rum.

Happy with it. Gonna do the horns and claws gloss black and then the tongues blue, brass weapon hilts and somethin for the blades, jury is out.

Got these guys finished up. Not really looking to go beyond table top quality with troops.

Love the sword! It's interesting to see blood letters in a darker shade

Maybe Chaos Daemons are so angry all the time because despite their near infinite intelligence they can't seem to forge anything more complex than a sword, an axe, or a staff

Looks good. I was looking to do something similarly dark myself for the 20 or so I found myself with. I think my blades are going to get done in copper/brass with some of the oxide technical to bring out some contrast.

Contrast, to me is especially important because I was basing mine to look like they were standing in a pool of lava/magma.

Well, there's a slight risk of gluing something together with it. Only slight, mind.

Ooh, I'm loving those. It has a nice earth-ish feel to them. The blue blade goes well with the Bloodletter's colors without clashing.

Try doing something with the eyes so they stand out.

I do what the voices in my wifes head say...

@ SkavenLord. The blades are 1:1 Sotek greeneep green by VMC. Then I went along the rim with 1:1 Scorpion green:Lothren Blue.

@ Fishboy, yeah the eyes need to be done because at the moment they lack a bit of life.
