I recently completed this Fine Molds 1/72 TIE fighter. It is an amazing little model kit and I would recommend it anyone looking to build a Star Wars model. Keep in mind that they just stopped production of these models, but they are still available (for the time being at least). I had to take this photo with my iPhone because the memory card on the Nikon was corrupted (doh!). It isn't a bad picture, I just know I could do better. After I get a new card I'll reshoot the pictures and follow it up with a write-up on my blog of how I did everything. Part one of the build can be found here and part two can be found here.

Thank you!
It was nice to take a break from painting something wargame-related for once. I just finished up a rather large Imperial Guard commission and I was looking forward to doing something for myself. I also have the Fine Molds TIE Advance, TIE Interceptor, X-wing, Y-wing, and Millennium Falcon in 1/72 scale as well as their 1/144 Millennium Falcon. I just started working on Vader's TIE Advance yesterday and I look to get it complete by the end of the week.

Blood Angel Terminator with Lightning Claws

I just read through the blogs part 1 & 2. Great build and clear description throughout. A couple questions if you don't mind.
These are basic technique questions as I am getting back into the hobby after a break. I want to learn and use the airbrush more. It seems as thought you do layers of acrylic with and airbrush, wash with airbrush and oil, an I assume the details are done with acrylic and brush. Do I have that right? If this is the case, is the highlighting done with an airbrush in a similar fashion to a regular brush? You call out a couple times that you have pre-showdown (or was it pre-highlight). So do you just build up the successive lighter layers the way you would with a brush and focusing on the flat and raised areas?
You dipped the cockpit glass in Future, and you used it several other times throughout, what does it do and when exactly is the right situation to use it?
This TIE looks great, and I am a fan of the x-wing as well. Thanks for any feedback you give. I don't mean to sound bothersome if I do. And if I'm upsetting the thread'romancy of this post, I apologize.
