This revision marks a major milestone as I release a much more cleanly formatted publication. It's a huge leap forward, but there's still a lot of work to be done and this is in no way the final version. At present it's lacking art and Fluff. If anyone would like to contribute either (keep it high quality) it would really speed up the next release. In terms of Development Cycle it's in Beta, this is the last stage until it's gone gold and it's beginning to strongly resemble the final product.

I've filled in all the gaps that the Sisters of Battle used to really struggle with (lack of Assault Vehicles, Limited Anti-air options, etc.) with new units and new uses for old units. There's still room for improvement and any feedback would be appreciated.

Notes on Formatting: I've opted to not use 7th Edition Formatting. I don't entirely dislike it, In fact I plan on using it to make dataslates, it just doesn't work for long Codexes. Instead I'm using my own style which is heavily influenced by 5th and 6th edition formatting.

Changes since the last release: These are too numerous to count and you should really just see for yourself. Of note are the changes to the Repentia, they can't take a Redemptionist anymore, but they now get there own special character upgrade. Helena's Rod of Grace has a ranged attack like it did in 2nd edition. Sororitas Command Squad is now made up of Veteran Celestians, Ld 10 with Furious Charge in addition to everything Celestians get. New Vehicle Wargear added including the Holy Icon and Laud Hailers function like they did in 3rd edition. Land Raider Prometheus added to available choices for Inquitiors.

Perhaps the Largest change however is the Exclusion of the Assassins. Don't worry they have their own dataslate now: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/610931.page

I made it though most of it but really all the units/vehicles are to much I like some of the special tanks. And the fact they get there landraider back. Solid A- just because I think its to much in additions. Land raider maybe 1 new hq 2 tanks 1 new inf unit 2 fliers 1 transport 1 gunship would be enough. The faith system your running would be hard because a lot of time your sisters are in 6+ most of the time around 15 models per unit. Which means you would have to start taking losses before you can roll your faith perks. This is just my opinion Sister's is my oldest army age wise that I still try and field most of the time for looks.

I hope I did not offend u. I'm just trying to be honest. U can check out what I got up of my sister's army in my gallery. Saint does not have her sword I know I do that for transport reasons its magnitized so I just clip it in before matches. But great work man on the codex. I just felt if I did not give you an honest review then I would not be telling how I felt. I just want GW to give me back the land raider maybe access to storm raven / storm talon.
And 1 cc unit that has armor and power weapons. Maybe sisters assault terms lol or centurians.

Always good to see this sort of stuff

Lots of good ideas and interesting units - like especially the Special characters
Some nice design - wish I could do that - do you use a specific program?
I'd like to see the fluff bits in as well some stories and the unit entries? Let me know If I can help with that - I have done my own homebrew Codex if thats any use/ interest - also has some nice art I have permsision to use...........

I had to add a lot, because the Sisters didn't have a lot to start off with and have lost a lot of units from past editions. The Faith System is actually more flexible than you make it out to be. About half of the Acts of Faith are roll under the # of models in the squad, the other half are roll over or under the # of casualties the squad has taken. You can also modify your roll by +1 for have a squad captain, +1 for having taken a casualty, and +1 having any non inquisitor HQ attached to the unit. You can also take a Simulacrum Imperialis for 10 pts to re-reoll Acts of Faith. The Faith System represents the Hysteria of a large religious mob and the desperation of a small group of survivors holding out against all costs, the Acts of Faith are tailored to these 2 extremes.

The Storm raven and storm Talon aren't something I want the Sisters of Battle to steal from Space Marines, that's why I gave them a fleet of their own that more closely resembles the Imperial Navy. Check out the Celestians if you want a Power Weapon wielding CC unit, or the Sororitas Command Squad for an even more effective force.

I used a few Adobe programs to make this: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.

I would love to see what art you have. For the Fluff I'll be handling the Sisters' history with decent amount of retconning going on, as well as the fluff for my unique addition. What I would rather delegate is unit and character fluff. Everything from Saint Celestine to Exorcists I'll accept submissions for.

As far as retconning go I want to return the Sisters of Battle to a large and powerful force that are dispatched to wipe out entire Renegade Space Marine Chapters. They are mid way between the Imperial Guard and Space Marines. they don't have the numbers, resources, or shear military power of the Imperial Guard, but are far more mobile and precise. Likewise they aren't as elite as Space Marines, but vastly outnumber them and can take on a Chapter of 1,000 Space Marines and come out victorious without worrying about losses in a battle of superior numbers and attrition.

I still need to work out several details such as the upper limits of Order Membership. The Largest Canon # I've found is 15,000 (Codex Sisters of Battle 2nd Edition). I would assign numbers like 100,000+ to major orders and minor orders ranging any where from 100 to 40,000 members.

Did some cleaning up of the Codex.

The biggest change is to Redemptionists who went down to 10 points per model, but lost Righteous Rage. So now you can run a Sqaud of 30 for only 300 points.

I also buffed Psychic Communion so it now acts like a teleport homer for all friendly units in addition to modifying Reserve Rolls.

Added a Confessor HQ, basically the cheapest way to take a squad of Zealots. He also comes with an Eviscerator.

I gave both the Psyk-out Grenades and Rad Grenades shooting profiles, since that's what 7th edition Grey Knights added. Psyk-out Grenades aren't copied exactly from them however.

Psyk-out Grenades are Strength 3 with Psi-shock.

Rad Grenades are Strength D6 with Poisoned (5+).

Holy Fusillade only costs 1 Faith Point now.

Added Cardinal Armandus Helfire, originally from Codex Sisters of Battle Second edition, and Inquisitor Lorr from White Dwarf 304.

I've also added the Celestian Elohim as a new HQ choice, and Canoness Hollarn a new special character.

Various other changes have been made also.
