Put this together to play casually with a few friends and family.

HQ:
Typhus (230)

Troops:
7 Plague Marines (2 Meltaguns, Icon, Plague Champion w/ Power Sword) (213)

10 Cultists (Autoguns, 1 Heavy Stubber, Mark of Nurgle, Cultist Champion) (83)

10 Cultists (1 Flamer, Mark of Nurgle, Cultist Champion) (75)

Heavy Support:
7 Havocs (Mark of Nurgle, Icon, 4 Missile Launchers) (192)

1 Vindicator (Extra Armor, Havoc Launcher) (142)

Fast Attack:
2 Chaos Spawn (60)

It worked pretty well in the 1 game I've used it in so far against Night Lords.

I intend to, at some point, convert one of the Cultist Units into Plague Zombies.

So what do you guys think? Is it a decent army? Does it have any major flaws that I'm missing? And are there any ways I can improve this army? Preferably I would like to keep the vindicator and Typhus.

Typhus is hard to use in 1000 points but if you really want to keep him then make those 2 squads of cultists into a big blob of zombies, they are amazing at holding backfield objectives and tar pitting anything really but you need them out of sight and in cover, and if you're playing kill points then use them as a big blob of wounds for typhus.

Next, I'd add some more plague marines in with a rhino for both squads, they need that mobility to make the midfield a miserable place for your opponent, and stick em with a special weapon or 2, flamers for hordes, plasma for meq's and meltas for heavy vehicle lists.

Vindicators are amazing for csm but they can always do better in pairs, if your one goes then that's a big loss of firepower and they're a typical priority target for any smart player.

And your havocs are decent but I'd make them for AA and give them Autocannons if you want to keep them, but I'd advise going with either full hades forge fiend or a heldrake for your dedicated AA.

Lastly as some suggestions, drop the spawn for the extra 60 points and maybe squeeze some obliterators in there, they have proven to be one of the best units in the csm book and work really well in pairs.

Hope I helped a bit

Ditto on that. Also, http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/607867.page

Also, if you are going to buy a CC weapon for your Plague Champ make it something unwieldy like a power axe or power fist because he will likely attack last anyway.

If you are ever strapped for points the Icon should be the first thing to drop.

Missile Launchers are great! Autocannons are also worth a look but those two are the best weapons for havocs imo.

If you were to expand to 1500 points:

Typhus (Warlord)
7 Plague Marines- 2 Meltaguns, Power Axe, Rhino w/ Combi-Melta
5 Chaos Spawn- MoN
30 Zombies (Typhus here)
30 Zombies
Heldrake- Hades Autocannon
7 Havocs- MoN, 4 Missile Launchers
Vindicator- Daemonic Possession, Combi-Bolter
Vindicator- Daemonic Possession, Combi-Bolter
