Hi guys. Well after painting marines almost exclusively during my on/off years painting minis I thought I'd try something totally different....an ork killa kan. This was a lot of fun to paint as it's so different but I'm not too happy with the result. To me it looks too messy but not sure how to paint orks neater without loosing the ork vibe. Any advice would be great . Thanks for looking!

Get out of your marine funk M8! Orks are da messiest! I think you did a fantastic job. Only criticism would be that I think you should add a couple more splashes of color on it in places to mark it belonging to your warband. ie. yellow for Bad Moons / black for goff's.

Thanks! Haha see i didnt even think about which warband my orks will belong to I guess evil sunz are out as i paint enough red with my Blood angels. I think goffs might be an option for me....hmmmmm...

Thanks guys! I started work on a Nob figure tonight, ive already learnt a fair bit after the kan, hopefully after a few more models ill have the techniques refined. Will post my results soon

I loved the paint job here. Rusty, beaten, and weathered. Just like orks should be. As for deciding on a warband, why not make your own?

Ok, just finished my first ork nob! Really happy with how he came out, wanted this to be a normal trooper without going too crazy with highlights etc, will save those for the characters etc.

Thankyou! Yeah im not a fan of bright cartoony orks. The green btw is deathworld forest with highlights built up with zamaesi desert.

I cant take credit for this scheme though, its "borrowed" from tommie soule.
