Had this display case custom made, keeps all my models dust free and its big enough to git in a stompa (if i ever finish it!) and a flyer.

Also installed LED strip lights about it to shine some light on them as the rooms fairly dark.

That's great! Looks like you have some space to fill up...

Impressive looking.
Awful lot of static space used up, I would have made a few smaller ones and maybe "book-end" some shelves.
If you got the room though, flaunt it!

Wow, I have always wanted a display this big ! ( and having a lot of space = more motivation to fill it )

Who made it and how much was it?
I'm looking for something similar for a non hobby related project I'm working on.
An 8ft long taxidermy conger eel.

It's the second picture in the link,

Robin Potter's history making CONGER EEL of 109 lbs 6 ozs which was the first officially recorded eel to break the 100lb plus barrier.

Yeah, I bought what was once a fishing tackle shop and this was left there on a high shelf thick with dust, I nearly fell off the ladder.
It's a bit more dead now as it was caught in 1976 and eel doesn't really preserve very well so it's a bit tatty.
It was never in a case, just mounted on some chipboard and is a bit hacked about.
I'm hoping to clean it up and looking a bit better, remounted, fresh plaque and possibly in a case if I can get one for the right price.

Yeah, it's a pretty cool thing to own, a good conversation piece at the very least, just got to get it a bit less dog eared as it's pretty gross at the moment.

Well that's this thread successfully derailed.
My work here is done, now off to my job.

Sorry pompeychiv.

This is mega, I've seen so many display cabinet threads based off the tall cabinets from Ikea, but a design like this would be much more suitable for my needs, I don't have the ceiling height for those Ikea cases (upstairs in a barn conversion - ceiling follows roofline) but I have lots of long shelves that are just crying out for dust free storage. Thanks for the inspiration!!

Question, I can't see a hinge anywhere... how do you get the models out? If you have to life the acrylic part off like a cheese dome that's going to get a lot harder once there's a Stompa in there I'm sure you have this covered but just curious as to how

Doesn't look hinged, it's just a 5 sided box that sits in a rebate in the base.

Yeah its not hinged, would be no point as its to close fit in my shelving above and the wall behind to move it. The top simply lifts up.

Good thing is its totally dust proof, obvious bad point is that to put anything bigger then say a rhino in i have to lift the whole thing off the shelf. No problem though i can do it on my own its not heavy.

Plus i have wife + kid, so my painting speed is really really slow. We are talking 1 figure every 2 weeks. Im working on a Gorkanaut, thats gonna be a minimum month to 6 weeks to build and paint. Probably more
