I,m in the process of making a chaos space marine army but all themed around space Skaven. As it goes the story I've thought to go behind them is, they got cursed by Nurgle as they ran away from one of the great 30k battles. This cursed caused their cowardly and hoard like nature to manifest itself in physical form This cased them to transform into rats. Now the only way to recover their original features (they hope) is to prove themselves brave in battle; that and now they've been driven bat s*** insane by the 10,000 years in the warp because that's what tends to happen. aesthetically their armour shredded its paint long ago and became a bronzey colour. after that the atmosphere and the 10000 years began to corrode the armour and it began to take on a blue hue which intensified over time.

anyway if anybody has any photos of any conversions for chaos rat marines i'd love to see them and even just hear they ideas for conversions.
I've alredy got plans for:
a hellpit defiler ( a hellpit abomination and a defiler rammed together at high velocity causing an awesome explosion of flesh and metal WITH CHEST CANNONS)
ogre-lators(rat ogre-mutilators conversion)
and some rat faced plague zombies ( Clanrats?)
also rat ogre obliterator( rat ogre heads on obliterators but needs more rat, halp?)

ive done one squad of rat marines already so i shall pt on my awful 1MP pic

That's an incredibly good idea!!!!!!!! *Files away for stealing*

For the Lion and Terra!

Because nothing in the galaxy is black and white, Mankind views the Space Marines as a last resort. The last line. When all else fails. They take up the burden. The noble defenders of Mankind. The last hope.

With finecast you can bypass the washing stage and throw them straight into the bin.

Or cut out the middleman and just flush some money down the toilet.

Another option would be to make Skaven Cultists, or Traitor Guard. :3

Mantic Veermyn. The range definitely lacks breadth, compared to Skaven or CSM, but they may be a cheap and simple option (requiring no conversion, as they're already space-ratmen) for something like cultists. Their retro-future laser blaster-type guns would play rather nicely with the 'updated old-school' aesthetic of 30k, too, tying them into your fluff.
