Thought I'd start a thread to show off some of my mini's and get some feedback, so to start, my Freeblade Imperial Knight!

Funny, even now knowing about the various shades/washes I am still impressed with the results.

Even the occasional blobs on a surface just add character since it is so gradual.
I can certainly appreciate all the edging you have done.
Still not sure if I would use the "crotch banner" but it looks good here.
Maybe do a slightly different color on the various weapon hoses?
A bit darker shade in the venting around the giant melta?

I know what is bugging me:
It is painted very well on the body and legs, any way to jazz up the weapons a bit?
More copper like colors, some heat / soot look at end of gun?
I think black/yellow (or the red and yellow) hazard stripe on the giant chain sword would look ace.

Yeah, looking at the love you gave the rest of the model those areas look like you could do more.

I still have mine in the box, I have been waiting for:
<say with Jamaican accent> "Get the vision mon."

Waffling between a more Mechanicus look or BT look.

Very nicely done! I'm not usually a fan of red as a primary color, but it works well with the bone color on the rest of the model. The heraldry and decals are also well done and look really cool as a whole.

I'd agree with the above poster that the melta cannon could use a little weathering - something as simple as some soot on the barrel ends.

A couple of stray observations/critiques -
1. It could be a camera angle thing, but is the "crotch plate" crooked?
2. Freeblades typically use a different "crest" on the top carapace (per the fluff). But the Aquila is still awesome.
3. Purely a taste thing, but the base is boring. The Knight base is huge, so there's a lot to work with to add some character. Trust me, it won't take away from the model, especially one painted this well.

Keep up the good work!

Cheers guys! Yeah I'd like to eventually do get some heat damage on the melta cannon, but I need to experiment with it first so I know I'll get the right effect. And yeah the crotch is crooked, not entirely sure how it happened but I've been reluctant to try and fix it as it's really on there! And the base may eventually get some more detailing too

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Following the knight, here's one of my Inquisitors, and my 2nd attempt to do some OSL. I'm aware there are a couple of minor chips, but alas, metal models.

Yeah good stuff! I think the lighting on the pistol is just about right, what is the device on his leg? It's making almost as much light but seems a bit smaller, still, a very solid effort

Valk looks lovely, giant space marine robot thing is also very cool.

Very nice, that inquisitor is one of the best GW minis ever and you've done it justice.

Cheers guys! @GrimDork yeah the scanner turned out a bit bright, but I'm still very pleased with it!

Heres some more minis, a sniper special weapons team. They are done to about the same tabletop standard as the majority of my guard, having over 100 guardsmen makes you pick a fast scheme haha! I gave the spotters camo cloaks made from green stuff so that they'd match the snipers, even though special wep teams can't take them. Also gave the spotter lasguns scopes and binos.

And finally going for the new CoD cover:

Good stuff. The knight looks great, love the scheme. OSL on the inquisitor is well done.I have to say my favorite is the gunship.

Oh and "Badger and Swag" would make a great TV show.

Those colors are excellent Looks like they're ready to move in and obliterate all of the ... details... once the inquisitor is done doing his thing.

So its been a while since I've posted anything up, but I have finished my Forge World fliers and thought I'd let you guys take a look, first up the Vultures:

And the Thunderbolt (such a fantastic model!)

Finally, I realise that my flight stand was boring as hell, so I built 3 more

Hope you enjoy and let me know what you think!

I've also put up a step-by-step tutorial on how I painted my Vultures, which you can find here
