So a few of my mostly finished bits i have completed, 3 termies in assault layout, and a Commissar.

gone a long way from some of my older bits i posted, washes, details, and a whole lot more practice
and yes a few may have been overzealous on the washes!

That Commissar looks the business, wouldn't want him knocking on my door lol

Them Terminators look really good bases for them look very fitting as well with a dark sandy like environment of an area that had being wiped of life and they looking for any possible taints or contamination of warp

Yeah, he came put well and the model is a very nice one to make, very little adjustments needed to make it work and fit near perfectly.

The bases look good but are not that complicated, layers of argelian earth, liquid green stuff and bits of old packing foam and cocktail stick, with little bit of a darker wash.

Just little time consuming :-)

I'm going to have to try some more additional parts onto bases I think for some of my other models to bring some depth into them

But its hard with the small bases (the 40mm ones) but with the Terminator ones are so much easier as can position them further back on base to give you some space to really work out

The tiny bases no, but terminaitor bases you definitely have some fun with. Sure could have lots of fun with a knight :-)

Oh god yeah the size and space of one of their bases seem to be, the ultimate playground of base customising

Thank you psnmario, he was a joy to paint though the gold was tricky, a cocktail stick, pin and a few touch ups later :-)

The Gold seems always be very watery for me when ever I use it, very rarely works for me, how did you get your gold to actually show anyway?

Its not game workshop gold if that's what you mean.

Army painter, greedy gold, no thinning whatsoever. Nice dryed off brush or tool, works fine for me somehow.
Sword is 3-4 coats, + a dark wash. Details, one thickish aplcation is colour on in one coat, reapplys but all before it dries and touch ups on black etc all with a cocktail stick/pin

:O I see, now I know your gold secret can use it too lol

but really need a pure gold for some of my other models, as I use the red / gold style one for my Chaos (as for Khorne, a nice blood brass mix really makes them look more friendly lol) will certainly try to get a hold of that one as may come very useful for much more "royal" or "exalted" based models

I got good with gold as early models, well my friend called them the bling templers....kinda aloit of practice.

Safe to say I toned it down, but they still are that bit golden lol ;-)

Well fortunate with Space Marines there is never such thing as too much gold.. look at Blood Angels for instance lol

I know that Black Templar are quite a power house, but wonder what think could win? Black Templar army or a Chaos Army?

True, they do do it like true pro,s with sang guard.

Don,t know, templers can bring as lot of nastky cc options, and now in codex all the ranged goodies too.
Chaos is a bit behind on the updates unlike the marines.

Few days, I have 2 assult termies s to do, a emplaced hevey weapon team, and new today a sqaud of catchans, forgot the laser cannon dev marine and a fprgeworld land raider but needs some replacements first.

But termies, few days as details take me as while. I'm not a quick painter!

Aha Well no one really is a quick painter as you think there is nothing left to do... several things sneak up on model to need painting over or doing again lol

I've started my Rhino today need to paint the inside part before rest is glued together but need pics as that is my Blog to start hopefully once spray paint arrives

Well if light is good tongith I can always see about a teaser in weapons team base :-)

Wow that looks good now that looks like a good barricade style theme right there, build some make shift blockades like them cocktail sticks and you'll have a front line defence right there lol

still got lots of bits to add too, excess weapons parts, old bits of rhino of they fit in, going to be very hard to paint though lol

That is true about painting side of it lol lucky the guns themselves aren't that complicated to paint, but the scenery additions you given will be something to try pulling off of blending of metal bits and wood salvaged from the area.

it will, most complex base ive ever built. though stand out, not seen many emplaced hevay weapons teams out there to this degree

Commisar looks great! IS that a stylish mustache he has there? It looks like it and it is awesome.

Happy effect from the wash I added to his face.
Combination of a gw fleshtone, dark brown and darktone wash.
His face came out far better than expected.

Never noticed that on his face till mentioned, that really gives him a mean look of command lol

I only noticed when it was pointed out too, happy random effect when I added wash layers.

Aye amazing how a tiny bit of pooled wash can give most random effects lol

Look on yt for some tutorials how to paint. cause you dont even paint all details on base colour. Those painted have too thick layer of paint. try painting with watered down paint not straight from cup. 3-4 thin layers are 100x better than 1 thick.

Try use more colours to pop up details.

Try find some basic skills tutorials on yt like drybrushing or layering cause you have a lot of work and way ahead of you.

@Edit throw away metalic paints from Citadel range, buy some vallejo or p3 metalics. Those are way better than citadel ones.
