I've been trying to finish the second squad of this platoon for a while.
I painted the entire platoon in the 3rd edition death korps colors found in the armageddon campaign codex.
Let me know what you think, thanks

Looks pretty good. A few things though, I'd drill out the barrel on the plasma cannon, and maybe add a wash to the white to give it some depth. Also those are steel legion troopers not krieg.

If you get a chance, check out the Armageddon Campaign codex from 2000, in the alternate paint scheme section you'll see the first death korps paint scheme, it was way before the resin models.

No, you are right, they are steel legion models, I was just recreating the old school 3rd edition paint scheme and look from the codex

All the 3rd edition Guardsmen had the same poses. Just looked different.

I have owned all the squads at one point and they all have the grenade guy, the gun in air running forward guy, the lurched forward with gun guy, the aiming guns guys etc.

The officers where the only guys that looked "unique".

So yea, they should look similar in posing.

Cool stuff OP. Looks nice among the ruins especially.

Well, these guys look a bit different when comparing them to the other squads. Maybe im wrong, but they dont look like all the other old school models. Most of them are gun forwards. Wrong I am I guess.

Really digging the throwback scheme. I came into the hobby right before the 3rd War for Armageddon book and worldwide campaign, so it's still my sentimental favorite bit of fluff. Do you have more still to be painted or is this all the Death Korps you own?

*FUN FACT: Not only is the metal Steel Legion squad still available from GW, they only retail for one cent more than they did in 2000! HOW CAN THAT BE?!*
