My first Lord of the Rings army, thoughts? I hate the King of the Dead model but I painted one anyway for comp stand in and my preferred model is the Barrow Wight with a crown that i use as my King.

Very cool models there, nice spiritual effect. I like the basing, though I'd try to thin out the wool a bit to make it more mist like (if it is mist you're going for) as it looks a bit like they're pushing through heavy snow!

Nice idea of using a barrow-wight as the King. I'd highlight him more or add some brighter colour somewhere to make him slightly stand out from the rest, but don't do too much because you'd spoil a fantastic model!

All in all great minis, especially as the dead can often be the hardest scheme to master!

Looking good! Bases are cool.
I'm not sure how big the Wight king is from vampire counts compared to the size of the lord of the rings minis but you could use that possibly instead!

Very nice spectral effect, but I'm not a fan of the basing that much. It isn't awful at all, but it just seems... missing something? Maybe to be a little more 'whispy' as mentioned, I dunno. It just doesn't look congruent with the standard of the models themselves. Looks like their standing on cotton balls. It's almost there, though. Nice overall!

What is best in life? To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women. Grrr.

Nice paintwork. I think the basing would be better if you thin out the cotton and then 'dye 'what's left in thin green wash to make it blend in a little more, like it does in the films where the Army are extensions of the mist until they fully form.

Always nice to see some LotR, though! Keep the game alive!
