I recently bought a scythed hierodule off of ebay, and the base is not round at all. I was just curious if anyone else has had the same issue, or maybe I ended up with a bad recasted base I paid pretty decent money for. I'd have to imagine forge world are capable are capable of at least sculpting a round base. It does have GW 2001 engraved somewhat faintly on the side.

If it isn't round, what shape is it?

A picture is worth more than a thousand words in cases like these.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Mines a proper one and the base isn't round.

Detail of the GW stamp..

Hope this helps with your vindication.

Wow, the last pic looks like Jaws took a bite out of the base! That's not the case and is just the material folding up badly around a quick photo, just wanted to show off the whole model!
I've shown you mine now get yours out for the lads.....

I tried to get good angles, because its hard to tell in photos but obvious in person. Its strange to me that FW wouldnt even put in the effort to make it round, and the bevel on the edge goes from straight up and down to diagonally inward.

The Hierodule models are very old. They date back before the the game had large monstrous creatures, and the biggest were deamon princes and carnifexes.

As such, they dont have a standard size monster base. Also, keep in mind, that the new plasti monster bases are not round either. They are the same kind of oval, but a bit different.

Looking at mine now, the base does have a bit of an overhang as you show but it's not quite as pronounced as mine.
As moulds get older they might show this a little more or less?

They are just really crappy bases. I won't be using mine. Might put each foot on a 65mm base. Makes it easier to maneuver on the tabletop.

I don't like the sound of that one bit, the model really isn't big enough to warrant that and personally I hate the multiple base on large models approach.
You'd be better off with a large oval base same as a tervigon.

Hierodule is damn near the same size as a tervigon, anyway.
