so ive been looking for a decent cheapish case to transport models to and from my girlfriends (like an hour and a half bus/train journey). While on Wayland Games I found Feldherr cases, which seem reasonably priced, i was just wondering if anyone had any experience with them? Thanks

If you want a cheap, workmanlike bag I think they are a pretty good option. I own several of them - for the most part they are just a cheaper version of the old basic GW cases in the interior. Fit 28mm and FoW minis perfectly, not as flashy as the made-to-measure stuff from Battlefoam and the like but fine if you just want something basic.
They're also a fairly non-descript style, which means you can travel as a nerd in amongst 'normals' without them realising

For this weekend ive improvised one from a laptop bag and the foam inners from my old GW plastic case haha. Thanks for the reply. They're rather cheap compared to like Battlefoam, tbh i think Battlefoam would be abit overkill for what I need, but i wanted to check they werent cheap for a reason...
And yeah the non-descript style is a big plus... I dont overly care if people know im a geek, but im not going to go out of my way to advertise it haha.

I've bought directly from Feldherr, the (huge) box arrived quickly, with contents exactly as specified and is very good quality, I think. Recommended.

I would recommend Feldherr.
The pros:
- Price, obviously.
- The foam is decent quality, easily on par with GW and especially for the price. I've never had any problems with the foam.
- The bags and xxl card case are top quality. Really, really nice and unobtrusive as you say. Not advertising "GEEK" was a huge plus for me too.
- Pick and pluck grid was perfect for me. I multibase units for Kings of War and I wasn't able to find another manufacturer who supplied trays to the UK with a pick and pluck grid. The way you can stack multiple trays before sticking them to a backing pad is also really neat.
The cons:
- The regular size (not xxl) cardboard boxes are flimsy. Really flimsy. They may as well be made of cotton for all the protection they give. I wouldn't particularly trust them with a heavy set of minis. They could be useful to keep an army stored on the shelf but if I'm actually transporting the army then I'd put it in the soft case.
- No double sized cases. I find my armies for larger games like KoW require twice as much room as my maxi case provides. Unfortunately the next size up is the xxl case which carries 4 times as much and is too large for public transport.
Overall I would recommend Feldherr.

I have one of their backpacks and love it. I'm reaching the point where I may need a larger bag and I'll have to go with battlefoam (because I'm taking Bolt Action, WM/H and Malifaux to the store all at once) but if I only want to take 2 of them the Feldherr works wonderfully for my needs. Recommended.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own... |

Thanks for the replies guys. In terms of those cons, neither of them really are for me haha. I'm not gonna get a cardboard one, I was looking at the Medium bag probably for now. And I'm not really looking to transport a whole Warhammer army yet (I don't have one yet!) so it's mainly for my Warmahordes and taking models and paints to my girlfriends to paint. I think I might order one when I get paid.

Yep they'll definitely be fine for Warmachine. I'd go for the maxi over the medium though to be honest. I fit a large tray for warjacks/large models and 2 trays for infantry, which I find is about right for two 35 point lists.

Hmm, not sure how many models 35 points cover in Warmachine, but I have the medium case and use it for Epic Armageddon primarily using the Flames of War custom 35mm half-size trays. It'll fit eight of those, or in my case five plus a 60 mm tall raster tray for my gargants. It also has the benefit of being a reasonably snazzy case. It's roughly the size of a laptop bag (a bit fatter), so you can carry it over the shoulder.

Funnily enough I was looking at the maxi thismorning thinking it would be better than the medium haha. Is the maxi unwieldy at all? It looks pretty fat.

I was thinking about getting some of these aswell but not sure what size.
It would be for a 2-2.4K Chaos Warriors army with a mix of infantry, 40mm 50mm chariot and cavalry units
would a messenger mag be big enough?

Anybody have experience with this?

Old case is worn out and is about ready to be retired, so I need some bulk storage for the upcoming move. Seems dirt cheap for what you get, but I can't tell exactly how much the box can potentially hold.
