Nurgle Veteran Marine with the Flu
|
Hiya all. I have bought the new box and I was thinking of using them as nurgle spawn counts as. I think they are super cool. Do you think they will fit? I was thinking of giving them 40mm base plus adding them the maxmini biohazard backpacks and maybe one nurgle pad to each. I am not sure for their size and height but if I heighten the base a bit they would probably be ok. I could use them as nurgle ogryn brutes or even chaos termies. any thoughts?

Put them on the right sized base, tell people what they are and you should have no problem.
I shouldn't think you need to convert them at all, they're pretty big and very nurgley so I can't see anyone having a problem with them being used as spawn.

That's my point exactly. Though I was thinking of adding the biohazard packs so they look more sci fi. Maybe add a few guitar strings and some pipes and voila! You have nurgle mutant spawn brute with sci fi elements!

To be honest, I think they'd work as Nurglite Ogryn, Spawn, and with a bit of up-teching with wires/packs ect, Termies or Oblits/Mutilators.

Go for it, man. They're fine as they are, but yeah, they would still look a bit fantasy-ish even on a round 40mm base. So if you've got some stuff in mind to 40k them up a bit then work your magic, make sure you post up the results so we can see how you got on.

Ok! I will have them today and i ordered 6 of these backpacks too. One for my biker nurgle lord, and 5 for the kings.
I think i won't overdo with their conversion. I would probably add a shoulderpad on each of them maybe. These backpacks look good on marines so they will look great on kings.

Whoa! Those packs are rad.
Just what I needed to "up-tech" my blightkings.
Now to see if I can get them stateside...
The Blightkings are great models, since I think they can go for anything: spawn, termies, ogryns, grotesques, etc...
And the Gutrot Spume model is awesome.

If you use them as Nurgle Chaos Spawn or Beasts of Nurgle, they really don't need much conversion work done. The backpacks would be nifty, but unnecessary. I'm thinking of using them in a similar manner, but I want to keep them open for Fantasy and 40k. They really don't need any conversion work done to use them. Those back packs are cool, though.

What is best in life? To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women. Grrr. |

I agree with you.. The models are fantastic and they only need a scenic base to complete their theme. Apart from that I won't use them in fantasy so I will try to just give them a sci fi look. Not too much, but small touches so they can blend in naturally with the rest army. What I mean apart from the cool Biohazard packs is add a few pipes, some guitar strings, and then create a wasteland apocalyptic base with toxic and stuff like that. I will update this topic as soon as I start working on them. Thanks for your comments guys!

The funny thing is that they could be Fantasy-esque and still fit in. They could be Chaos Champions from a technologically-lacked Feudal World, their services gifted to a Nurglite warband for whatever reason.
That said, I'd personally prefer a more sci-fi touch to them. Just don't feel like it's necessary!

Yes you are totally right! And I think they have the same feeling like the plastic nurgle lord for fantasy. He is both sci if and fantasy and an amazing source for countless conversions. I am not sure though how I will choose to build them. Each one has two almost entirely different builds. But some heads are far greater than other..
I was thinking apart the above stuff I mentioned that I will add to them that it would be nice if I add one shoulder pad on each. One death guard or other kind of pad. Any thoughts? My only concern is that with the pad they will look more marinish
