After I recently read Cyphers Dataslate I just had to get him for my CSM army. However I feel the GW model doesn't do him any justice. So I looked through the remains of my Dark Vengeance box, the chosen I thought where too expensive in game wise and their wargear was all over the place. Also I didn't need the Chaos Lord, and he is holding a pretty cool plasma pistol.

I was really inspired by this image from the dataslate:



Chosen legs and bolt pistol arm, Chaos Lord back and plasma pistol arm.


Space Marine head (the mowak was gonna be covered by the hood anyways), torso and pouches as gun holsters (I cut one of those double pouches in half).


My very first green stuffed hoodie, after the image was taken I changed it around a bit. Also I angled his right foot to be more of a jumping pose, however it was too long (as you can see), so I took it off and shortened it a bit.


I glued the 25mm to a 40mm for stabillity. The rock does supply enough counter weight, but I didnt want him to ever tip over.

To Do List:
His Sword, I'm probably gonna use the Chaos Lord's sword on some chains hanging from his backpack.
Hair, I'm still not 100% sure if I want to give him the hair he has in the picture or just leave it out. Would very much like opinions on it!
The base, I still have some DV bits from the DA, so maybe I can spice up the base a little with some helmets and shoulderpads or something?
Clean up, Currently there are still a lot of gaps etc.
Drill barrel holes, but this im gonna do last.

So far so good! I like the pose you've given him. It has a sort of graceful feel to it.

Love it! Looks great, and I wouldn't worry about too much on the base, maybe a single Dark Angels helmet or something, don't want it to look cluttered or take attention away from the model or anything. Also I'd prefer him without hair, just personal opinion.

Yes I was starting to side with no hair aswell, his facial region looks good now, and I dont want to mess it up with my lack of greenstuff skills Also, good call on the base thank you!

There was a pretty big gap between the chosen shoulderpad and the chaos lord cape. I tried really hard to immitate the wolf fur with my GS... I'm not 100% pleased, but it should work for tabletop..



Also started working on the base. I will probably go over it a second time with more PVA and GW sand once its dry. Also added a grenade to his belt, gotta have that WYSIWYG!

Earlier I had converted my Hellbrute from DV to have a Heavy Flamer in his Power Fist. I cut off the chains dangling from it normally and added a fuel tank where they used to be.


Luckily I kept the chains and found them to fit perfectly into the eye sockets of the skulls on the Chaos Lord's backpack. They will hold his sword once they are dry (dont want the sword to weigh them down while they dry).

Finally added the sword, original plan was to use the Chaos Lord's sword from DV. But that one was not sheathed and it looked unnatural to attatch it to chains. Friend of mine still had a Grey Knights sword that was sheathed.

I tried to make the chains logical, the right one is shorter so the sword would hang on an angle where the hilt is (so the hilt would be about waist height). Right now the chains are just glued to the sword, so I will have to do some greenstuff work on it to make it look better.

Greenstuffed more of the chains to make it look like the sword is actually being held up



Another angle on the chains, also covered some untidy greenstuff work on the hood with more wolf pelt.

The cypher model is pretty much done now, atleast as far as modelling goes. If anyone has any suggestions for him im all ears!

However ive also started converting my space marines into plague marines:



If anyone who looks at this blog wants to see more progress on these and some previous nurgle models ive done just let me know and i will switch this over to be for my nurgle army in general!

Thank you so much! Its my first all out conversion/kit bash, previously i had only done some minor things with greenstuff. So hearing all these positive reactions is really amazing
