When you say the lights flicker do you mean to say there is an LED in there? If so any chance of a vid?

Its actually a tea light, so it flickers like a candle

I have a lot of money, so when my tanks die, I actually light them on fire. It's a cool effect.

Just kidding. These look great, but seem a little bit large. For home use, awesome, but transporting them might be a PITA.

The basic idea is incredibly simple, LutherMax - just get an electric tea light (little fake candle that flickers - they aren't particularly expensive or hard to find), glue a wad of cotton wool/polyester stuffing on top, and give it a spritz of black/grey paint.

Seen it done a number of times, before, but the OP's are some of the best looking I've come across (that first one, especially). Most tend to make theirs too small, dense, and either light or dark, at least for my tastes. I think these have a much more impressive presence, without filling half the tabletop, and better balance the coloration of the smoke.

Thats exactly how I made it, for the final touch I used a matte clear coat on the entire thing to make it a bit stiff and rigid.
