Hi guys, I'm really getting into Malifaux at the moment and wanted to share my Malifaux Poltergeist for Pandora's crew. Because it's incorporeal I wanted to make it appear spooky or otherworldly to differentiate it from the other miniatures in the crew, so I thought I'd experiment with painting it in photo negative and add an eerie glow around the base. I'm pretty happy with the Mini overall but I still have my Sorrows to paint so I'd appreciate any comments, critique or suggestions for improvements so please let me know what you think.

Looks pretty cool! Nice to see something different from the usual ghostly green.

The negative / lighting effect is fantastic. It's all so, so good.

This! I thought you were messing with Photoshop on the first pic..... then I saw the rest of the pics. Very nicely done.

Nope, all hand painted with a paintbrush. I'm kinda old-school and don't own an airbrush either.

Here's a comparison of a photo that has had the negatve filter applied,

I very much light the OSL, but I think it gets somewhat confused by the glow-from-inside competing light source on the hair and face.

Play around with photoshop and see what it looks like if the eyes, nose, and mouth are black with the face ridges highlighted from below, and the hair highlighted from that same source, rather than from within.

The rest of it I adore, though. I especially like the subtle but present little bit of glow on the bricks at the bottom.
