My project partner Edsel Gregory Viste and I are students at the University of La Verne taking a Marketing Research class. Both of us are gamers with varied experience and thought it would be an interesting project to look into a company like Games Workshop.

Couple of iffy questions there. One about spending patterns over five years, and whether they're higher or lower than normal (I.e. spending patterns before the last five years) well, whatever you've been spending over five years, surely that's normal? Also, something like a 'don't purchase' option might've been nice there. I still spend about the same on historical minis and CCGs, but I buy more historical minis than anything else and don't buy CCGs at all.

The other thing was the question about GW value. I clicked the option for upping the value to match the price, but to be honest I'd rather have an option for cutting the price to match the value...

I hope you have put the survey on other wargame sites as well as DakkaDakka.

For example, The Miniatures Page has more of a historical representation.

Yer options are a little skewed... no option for having bought nothing from GW.

Done. There wasn't always an option that accurately reflected my experiences, but I filled it out the best I could.

I voted yes on the BFG as X-Wing-based, but, to be honest, I'll take BFG anyway I can get it. Best game GW ever made after Blood Bowl.

Again all I can say is thanks to everyone so far. We were limited in how many questions our survey could be, so we tried to be as inclusive in all of the responses and questions as we could. This could have easily been a 30-50 question survey if our professor didn't put the limit on us.

I did the survey But I think you should have a question WHY we dont buy from games workshop, not just if we would buy if the price wast better..

Facts are that the Reason that everyone I know stoped Buying is Because the RULES SUCK BALLS, that is the only reason we quit GW... not the Prices...

But that question is kind of already in there where it asks about how happy you are with the rules.

Yeah, the last five years compared to the previous 5 years? Too big a time sample size considering life events. You also missed Necromunda in the list of GW games somehow?

Different for different people. Prices are as bad as the rules at this point. Especially for Aussies.

Nope. I don't give a 6mm rat's ass about the rules. I stopped buying the models because they were too pricey. That's it. Full stop. They cost too much money.

Done, but a few questions were poorly executed:
Spending over past five years: I checked the max spending because, prior to my divorce, I had no discretionary funds to spend on my hobbies. This question needed one or two follow ups to indicate when the change in the respondents purchasing changed.
Games you've never heard of: There were a few questions relating to your likelihood of purchasing X or Y game if it was offered. Problem was, in a few instances, they were games I had no knowledge of, but had no 'Dunno' answer to select. Most questions had an 'NA' answer, but (specifically) the question regarding GW producing a aerial combat game based on one of their old properties did not.

Not sure if Survey Monkey allows this, but it would have been good to have a early 'Which of these games do you play' mega-list, and then the 'satisfaction' questions could be only the ones I clicked 'yes' to.

I was spending a lot of time click NA to various games I don't play, and even ended up saying I was happy with Mantic's rules, despite not actually playing any of the games!

I filled it out as best I could, but I don't play GW games, I don't go to GW stores, so a lot was "same" even though that means "never".

You make a lot of GW assumptions in the survey. Here in San Diego, there are several good, independent game stores, and only 1 GW store, and that's a long drive for me. Never been there.

If you walked into my local games store on any given day, you'd see several minis games going on, and none of them or only one of them would be a GW game, 1 would be Warmachine, one would be X-Wing, and the other would be historical.
