What is this im hearing about 25mm standard bases being replaced with 32 bases??!??!?! Is this going to be a mandatory thing???? Rebasing all my models would cost a fortune and take a hell of a long time hahah!!!

Well, I think it will not be the case.
It's just a modeling thing for the DC.

First of all, there's already a thread for this in News and Rumors.

Second, it's more than just DC, it's also affecting SG, the new BA tactical Marines and, if I'm not mistaken, the sanguinary priest. So it seems like GW might be wanting to move all Marine models that were previously on 25mm bases to the new 32mm base size instead.

Third, there's no evidence that GW is planning on replacing all 25mm bases with 32mm bases. No other models have been repackaged with them yet and the genestealers in the Deathstorm box all came on the traditional 25mm slotta bases.

Finally, no, it's most likely not a mandatory thing. GW hasn't "forced" people to rebase their models for a good long while, even when they still supported a tournament scene the rule was always to put the models on the bases they came with. All your models came with 25mm bases, ergo they go on 25mm bases. If you want to switch them all over to the new 32mm bases because you think it looks better or you just plain feel like it you can, and GW will obviously be selling them in packs for you. But you shouldn't have to if you don't want to and I doubt anyone is going to "make" you.

There is a long thread about this topic in News, http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/624701.page so I will close this version as reduncant.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
