When I started the Valhallen army commission from my other thread, I also started a Tallarn army, this one isn't a commission, I'm just doing it for fun (and to sell on Ebay later); I want them to all be mounted or have a vehicle to ride in I think, but I'm not sure exactly which vehicles I'm going to use. Also going to attach an inquisitor and henchmen, still fleshing that part out.

Also did an infantry squad. Not sure, but I think they are going to count as conscripts, maybe I'll make 10 more and make one big squad out of them. I think the Tallarn regulars will look more like the traditional Tallarns from the GW fluff. I sort of modeled some of these to look more like Arab militia from movies like "The Wind and the Lion", "Lawrence of Arabia", and "The four feathers". There is also a modern "Jihadist" sort of look to them thanks to the converted AK pattern lasguns and the aftermarket heads.

More progress shots, I scratched up the little trike to go with the rough riders. I plan on mounting a heavy weapon on it, maybe make it a "counts as" sentinel or something. I'm also going to make at least 5 more rough riders, possibly 15 more.

My gawd... as the proud owner of an all metal Tallarn army I salute you. This is incredible.
The GS robes, the patterns on their head scarves this is an amazing project.
Can you let us know where some of the outside bitz came from?

Yup, the heads are from Maxmini, I believe. A few are GW heads, embellished with greenstuff. The guys with fezs on, most notably. The infantry guys are made mostly from Empire Militia bits mixed with Cadian and a few Catachan bits. I got resin AKs from Victoria miniatures (one of my favorite sources) but didn't like the overall look, so I chopped the clips and barrels off and grafted them to Cadain rifles. The rough riders use a few different bits, which I'll get to later, I'm starting paint on them today.
