I'm not the worlds greatest photographer so I can't give you advice, but is there any way you can lighten the pics? The models and paint job look really good, just very muted and hard to see! If you can get the colours to pop more in the pics would be great!!

Thank you all! Um, what advice can you give me for better lighting? I dont have a light box, I just use a couple of blank papers for the photos. Lighting in the room is enough to paint, bit the pictures come out pretty dark. Any lighting advice? Thanks!

The best light for miniature photography is natural light; if you have a conservatory or even a room with a lot of windows, that is the ideal place to photograph your minis. It can be hard to get good lighting this time of year, but if you get a day that is overcast without being grey then that is the best.

If your camera has a setting called ISO, turn it down, as it brings out the colours and reduces glare. You might want a tripod or support for this, as it does make photos more susceptible to blur.

Finally, experiement with different backgrounds. I find black rather than white works best for me, but it all depends on the colours you're trying to shoot.

Hope that's of some use, it'll take a lot of trial and error but you'll eventually find a setup you like.

Hey guys, thread update! Got my scions yesterday, and since my armylist consists of an allied AM detachment, I decided to paint these bad boys. In my opinion, this is THE best kit GW has ever made.
