Hey guys, I have a blog for my nids and as I'm now restarting blood angels from scratch I thought why not a new blog to help keep me motivated. My plan is to spend 2 weeks on my blood angels which will be slow as it's a "showcase" army which I'm really trying hard with. And then my 2 weeks offshore I'll spend doing some more nids, anyway here is my first blood angel on his way

Shading and touching up done and the joints. It's taken about 5 layers to cover the wash up as my Mephiston red is so think I've had to dilute it down so much, I like it though

Thank you, I spent a few hours last night and he's coming together a little, not happy with the blood drops though. May try white with a red glaze and then a gloss varnish. I think this guy will be stripped and started again once I have the techniques all down

S got the first guy totoaly down today. Still not 100% sure about the blood drops but I guess they can't really stand out as they're red. I'd love to hear some feedback now the first guy is finished,

Looks pretty good. As for the blood drops not standing out, you could try a blackstone gem effect. If you're not familiar, googling it will lead you back to an article here on Dakka. This will give you a red-looking blood drop with the dark base colour providing contrast against the rest of the model.

Just put the last (third) coat of base on the second guy, just a picture to show how this guy has been modelled
